  • Morning all
Lovely to see a post from you Halight.
It seems everyone has had a good time as did we & we have enough leftovers to last a few weeks, lol.
I've been awake since 6ish but stayed in bed 'til 8 just to rest. I had jewelry from hubby and a crochet book, a scarf & lots of edible stuff from other family members.
I've fed the fish, eaten my porridge & am on my 2nd cuppa, not sure what hubby will do today, he's itching to get in the garden but it's a quagmire out there & more rain is due. We are still on flood alert and the next lot of rain could take us up to warning level, we will wait and see.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Good morning everyone :)

DD, GDD and friend went home at about 3pm, we had a lovely Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with them. DH and I had not planned to make Christmas dinner so we had chicken breasts wrapped in pancetta, served with oven roasted winter vegetables and black pudding with pears. It was delish!

Had a quiet and peaceful evening watching TV and doing a Wentworth jigsaw, it was a good one but not quite as challenging as it looked. We adore these jigsaws but they are very expensive and definitely not OS or MSE, so we buy them on ebay, then sell them again after we have completed them. We call it our own jigsaw borrowing club :rotfl:

Halight it is so good to see you posting, hope to see a lot more of you here in 2014!

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super Boxing Day :)

    Morning all,

add a sore throat, subtract the Rudolph look nose: gotta love this cold.

For some reason best known to crazy squirrels I decided it wd be a good idea to go to the sales this morning. Instead of staying in bed in the warm, my sons and I set out with DH as driver and rampaged round M&S for half an hour.

I then went and bought 3 birthday gifts and two gifts for Xmas 2014 in Boots, using my points.

Sons have topped up work clothes and are now reading. DH is asleep. I am drinking hot blackcurrant for my throat and thinking of dozing off. Need to be at my parents' house for the family tea later on.

Have a good day all x

    Morning all,

We had a lovely day yesterday, I was very spoilt with some Ugg slippers, Chanel no 5 and a book from OH, DD bought me a beautiful thick lambs wool scarf, and more from various family members.

The dinner was a great success the turkey was lovely, we spent the day laughing and remembering dad but it was not sad, we were lucky to have him in our lives for so long.

Tru thanks for keeping me company yesterday whilst waiting for put families to wake up ! Mind you once they were up the madness began and I wished they would go back to sleep !

Off to my sisters today for jacket spuds and cold meat, will go for a walk first with the dogs.

    Have lovely days all xx
  • Another one here who's Christmas Day was calm , relaxed and argument free. Dinner was lovely turkey crown was very moist. I have sliced the remainder of one half to use today with jacket pots and salad pickles etc when the kids get back from their fathers . The other half has been portioned up and put in the freezer. There will be a fair few meals from it. Didn't wake up until gone 10 this morning so a fantastic lie in, came downstairs and dd had run the Hoover round , emptied dishwasher , loaded washing machine and was making pancakes for her brothers for breakfast , such a good girl xx. I settled for a mug of tea and a bowl of porridge. Am going to take the dogs over the field for a run around as they are still bouncing off the walls hopefully it will wear them out for a few hours and I am going to sit and catch up on recorded soaps from yesterday, stay safe and have a lovely Boxing Day all xx
  • Good afternoon all.
Fantastic stress free day here yesterday. Got spoiled rotten by dh and did, so a very happy lady today. Got dh dad here today and overnight so another full roast dinner to cook, but to tell the truth I don't mind as I'm happy when entertaining.
Went to boxing day sales this morning and was pleased to see boots had all their gift sets at half price, so grabbed a few for birthday pressies during the year.
Right better get on still got the dogs to walk.
Hugs to all who need them xx
    Bright Blessings xx
