    Xmas Saver!
Off to Ikea in the morning :D

The units I bought in there last year ( that they have made for 25 years) are being discontinued

It's over 70 miles away, but if I don't get the unit now I may never be able to get it. I am going to a few other bits while I'm in there. My list comes to nearly £100 and the unit is only £47.50 with inserts. And I haven't even looked round the shop yet, that's just from looking on the app. :o

    Evening everyone,
    morning all
brilliant news that the lovely JJ is on the mend
continued healing vibes to all the poorlies especially to JJ and the DHs of nanamia and feisty
sorry havent been about much for a few days garage roof needed replacing so after getting a message weds night they were coming on friday we had to empty everything out then had to do a quick trip to the bank and juggle some funds. then spent weekend sorting and putting stuff back and doing a couple of tip runs with the junk. also managed to get the garage window swapped (old rotted wooden one for old but better condition upvc one) had DD2 and partner round for day yesterday so watched a couple of films and did some stitching.
have taken old bridesmaids dress apart and washed it in readiness for turning it into a cushion for my mum (hoping it looks ok)
just sent a comment to morrys about the shocking treatment i got at customer service in local store am waiting to see what the reply says (if they bother answering)
anywhos got to go work soon so just time to wish you all well and grab a cuppa before i go.
    'c' you all alter

MRSMONEYPENNY does the bridesmaid dress have any significance to your mum? I bet that will look lovely, hope you get an answer from Morrys, DD1 complained to Sainsburys the other week and got £15 gift card!!!
Nanamia Great to hear about JJ. Hope that she continues to improve. Thanks for keeping us updated.
OMO The quotes are great. Keep posting them.

I enjoyed Meet Me On Platform 8. I've read it more than once, although not for a while.
Saw a couple of bees in our garden over the weekend.
What did you cook for Commonwealth day?
Just got back from Hammersmith. Had tickets for a recording, but they had too many people so we didn't get in. Nice to be home early, but shame we didn't get to see the show. Got chatting to a couple of people in the queue about theatre shows and that made the waiting time go fast. :)

RUTHHONEY yes i am enjoying it already, thats what i love about her books they pull you in from the start, oh i havent seen any bees for ages in this garden, i made Vietnamese Chicken Salad it was really nice

Just bought this £2 George at Asda sale, thought it would make a nice gift. Lots of other nice things including hat scarf glove sets for children. Bought myself a couple of tops too, have been watching the calories, lost 8.5lb and so time for a little treat. Not bought new clothes for ages. Borrowed clothes from my mum to supplement maternity clothes I was reusing. Regularly clearing too big items out of my wardrobe and too small items from baby's. So tempted to buy lots I don't need for the boys, but money is getting tight. Just on stat mat pay now and had 2 cars' MOTs and both to insure in past month. Waiting til after payday (18th) to buy a new tv too as ours is playing up.
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D
Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013 :)

    morning all
    Evening everyone,

MRSMONEYPENNY does the bridesmaid dress have any significance to your mum? I bet that will look lovely, hope you get an answer from Morrys, DD1 complained to Sainsburys the other week and got £15 gift card!!!

i wore the dress when i was about 6/7 years old as bridesmaid at my aunts wedding (she was also my god mother) she was my mums younger sister and very sadly died about 15 years ago. I honestly dont know if mum knows i still have the dress but it was just stuffed in a bag in the attic getting grubbier and more tried looking. my girls played dress up in it when they were little and all got the story of how lovely auntie lucy was. so the dress has very happy memories in it. my mum loves personal mementos above all other things she has grandad in the rooms* pipe and granny in the rooms* glasses etc with photos on her dresser so i think/hope she will e pleased.

*reason they were called granny and grandad in the room. they were actually my great grandparents and lived over the road from me when i was little in the same house as my gran and various aunts and uncles. they were 'in the room' as they lived there whole lives in the downstairs front room in it was a bed a chair a commode and a little open fire with metal plates attached to the fire sides that grannyitr used to put little saucepans on to cook their meals. i can remember going over and making toast on forks in front of that fire. and sitting with grandaditr in his rocking chair.
he is the reason i never smoked mum caught him letting me have a drag on his pipe she went ape his reply was the girl wont be curious now and wont want to try smoking again. hes right i never did, clearly remember puking my lizards up behind the wash house at a very young age. Happy days, i loved that couple

sorry went off on a waffle there:o

freespirit i will post a photo for you but all ive done today is play with scrap fabric to try different ways of mitreing to see which i prefer.
made me smile the image id conjured up of grandparents in the room for you, i suppose it was like that. my lasting memory of him is in a leather waistcoat and one of those old style collarless shirts smoking his pipe and sharing his XXX mints with me (they were so hot you had to hold them between your teeth to let your tongue have a rest), she always wore those slippers with the pompoms on with little flaps buttoned down and a floral wrap round apron with her hair up in a bun. proper style great grandparents. living over the road from them meant i always had them gran uncles aunts and cousins nearby. i really missed that when we moved from lincs
