As you rightly say, a chargeback is possible, but Section 75 cover is not available with debit cards.

If you spend a £100 on a visa debit card within 120 days you can claim back with Visa Debit Chargeback,

There is no minimum amount you must spend on a visa debit card to start a chargeback - just as there is no cast iron guarantee that it will work.
