Icelandair anyone?

Options
We had a 6 hour delay to New York with the above delightful airline back in June this year.

Sent off the compo letter from the site and after 6 weeks contacted them again, on both occasions they just ignored the claim.

CCA letter sent just as the CAA did the 'ooh theres lots of these complaints and we cant cope' flap and bombed it off back to the airline.
Well the 12 week deadline expires in the next few days and so far Icelandair are ignoring them as well so can I assume the CCA will still be sod all use and just go straight to the small claims court?

    Yes

I'm not sure if Icelandair has a UK presence, mind you.

There is a "all other non-EU airlines" thread.
  • For Icelandair you can serve proceedings on this address:-

    ICELANDAIR EHF

Lol and thanks both, thats where the letters have gone so as they've offered no defence so far (well even acknowledgement) should be a nice easy one :)

The confirmation has arrived back from the Courts so now I wait to see what if anything they do about it.

Response from Icelandair and they're fighting it because it wasn't over three hours, though their maths leave something to be desired.
However have I gone off half cocked?
I had a connecting flight with them which was similarly delayed which I may have included in my total delay??
  • The arrival time is calculated at the 'final destination'.

See Article 2 of the Regs for a definition of final destination and to see if it applies to your connecting flight.
