If you think they're new ones, post them
If they're dupes someone will point it outI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Hi Claire - I'm sure you could just post them? Glad is right - if they are dupes, people will request for them to be merged! People were probably not posting them for you yesterday because it was Christmas and many MSEers were enjoying a day off comping and probably drinking, watching Christmas tv or spending time with family! I hope you enjoyed your day x:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I don't want to mess up with links etc so will leave it to someone who has the time and knows what they are doing.

You can still post them on the main board Claire and I am sure someone will add them to Advents accordingly.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

maybe it would be easier to start a thread in chat asking how to add links to sticky threads? it's basically posting on the advent thread with a link to the comp thread, very similar to how you are posting in this thread and adding a link to the comp
Just post the comps on the main board please, someone else will do the links etc until you get the hang of it, compers chat isn't really for posting lists of comps, that's what the main board is for, and that's where people will be looking for new comps not in hereI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Claire it’s lovely that you want to contribute to the forum :T It would also really help if you would also:
1) Search the main board to see if it’s already been posted.
It’s not a terrible thing when someone posts a dupe, as long as they’ve had a go at searching first, otherwise it’s like someone has to sort of sweep up after you. Nobody minds when a dupe slips through the net, as long as the OP has at least tried to check first.
2) Post on the main board. If you’re posting about a new comp, doing it anywhere else just means it will take twice the effort in the end, because then someone else has to start from scratch to do what you have already pretty much done.
3) Post the title in the right format. Go by other posts and you’ll soon get the hang of it. Here is an example from KatieL:
E: 29/12 ? Win a new classic tote bag (TW)
The most important thing is the first part “E: 29/12” This format is vital for end-date compers to search on. The question mark indicates that the end date is guessed. Then include a brief description of the prize. The last part is for any helpful vital add ons (FB/TW/RC/Effort/London only – etc.)
In the body of the post it’s fine to post just what you have been posting here. At some point hopefully you will become confident to add links, questions/answers and so on. But while you are learning, anything you miss out on can and will easily be added by others.
We’re always grateful when someone makes an effort to contribute here, as you are trying to do. It’s perhaps just worth thinking that whatever you don’t do means someone else has to. Most won’t mind adding a bit here and there, especially for newer posters. But if you could have a go at these few things, it’ll mean that when you post about a comp it won’t feel like you are ‘delegating’. Hope you don’t mind my saying.
Thanks again for wanting to contribute. It's a learning thing. I'm very much still learning too
Blu XI am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!
When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.0 -
