    Evening everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Hope everyone has had a good day, and those with little one's haven't been awake since stupid early o'clock!

DH and I woke fairly early - but not too bad, so came down and enjoyed a cuppa in peace before the boys got up.

Boys both seem pleased with their gifts - they have been spoilt as usual.

Lunch was lovely - one of my better efforts and we were eating by 12.45pm - we don't like having dinner in the middle of the afternoon. So lunch was all eaten - and we'd got cleared away 1.30pm.

Have finished making the cheesecake for tomorrow, the profiteroles were made yesterday - I will finish them off when we get to mum's tomorrow just before we eat. We're going to mum and dad's - younger sis and bil are there with their 3 children, and older sis and bil and their 2 children will be there too, so will be good to catch up and see what the children had from Father Christmas.

    Keep safe and well x

    Merry Christmas all!
We were up at silly o'clock here, both DS and I had a sleepless night, so I had coffee'd, tidied the loo and had tomorrows turkey in the oven before 6am! We were all spoiled with lovely prezzies, and were ay MIL's by 10am!
Moved on to mums to spend some time with my niece as today is her 18th birthday. Dropped DS home as he was out of socialisation vibes, took DD to her boyfriends and then went back to mums for dinner of stuffed duck.
Am finally home, wrapped up like an overstuffed teddy bear in my new fluffy dressing gown with a glass of fizz in hand. DS has gne to his friend's so am home alone, feeling a tad deflated but glad I got through the day with just the one emotional moment when MIL unwrapped her prezzie, a big canvas print of OH taken when he was 21!
Time to relax, as we are having Christmas dinner here tomorrow with DD's boyfriend and my brother.
Hope you all had a good day, and that you can relaz for a bit!
    RIP Iain

  • Hello everyone and a Merry Christmas.

Found it all to be a bit of an anticlimax really. My girls were excited about Santa and got up at 7.30am, but they did go to bed pretty late last night.

Found I spent most of the morning annoyed with them as they were being needy and demanding with their new toys (terrible mum I know) to then missing them this afternoon after their dad picked them up.

Spent the rest of the afternoon mooching around really. Didn't really feel like Xmas. My mum refused all help in the kitchen even though she was knackered (she went to bed straight after dinner!)

Girls not back till Friday, so have decided to go home tomorrow (am at my mums today) and maybe actually spend some time cleaning and thinking about my New Years Resolutions. Think I have too many and may struggle!

    They are:-
Be more OS (as in using my breadmaker now that it is out of the loft and every week make something new for girls for dinner to get them out of the rut they are in at the moment. Yesterday, my mum made a lovely meatball meal with sauce and pasta with lots of hidden veg, but they refused to eat it. My eldest was eventually persuaded with threats that Santa wouldn't come. Not so bad as there was me, Mum and Dad to eat it, but I hate the idea of spending ages cooking something only for them not to eat it which is what is most likely to happen!).

Stop drinking so much (this is very important as I think I am becoming a tad too reliant on my wine once work is finished).

Straighten my hair more (feel I need to make more of an effort instead of pulling my frizzy hair into a ponytail every day).

Start using the crosstrainer in the front room (two sides to this, will help me lose weight and give me something to focus on rather than wine in the evenings).

Bit of a miserable post today, sorry guys.

    Evening all,

My Christmas was lovely. Not much pressure on me but only enough to keep me wanting to create something special for our day.

Unfortunately Milster woke me up at 3am to go out and I just couldn't go back to sleep. I did eventually but the next thing I remember hubby was getting up, muttering "don't you think its time you got up to put the turkey in?". I growled at him and went back to sleep.

Downside to that was that he was right. By the time I'd woke up I was kicking myself for not getting up with him to put the meat on. I usually like to cook the turkey and leave it to rest for a short time whilst I am cooking the rest of the meal. Unfortunately as it turned out, the turkey didn't get to rest (but it worked out ok).

Whilst the turkey was cooking we went to visit our daughter, her fianc! and Grandson and swapped gifts. I had a munch of my little man who was dressed as one of Santas little elves.

Came home, created this 'masterpeice' (well it was a masterpiece for me anyway).

Downside to the turkey is that it will take a month of Sundays to get through the excess and I really wish I hadn't bought such a big bird. However it wont be wasted, i'll freeze what we don't use.

This afternoon was quiet. Hubby watching man stuff downstairs. Me, doing my stuff upstairs after cleaning the kitchen and 'Youngest' doing his own thing in his bedroom.

Ive spoken to my daughter and her partner in South Africa. Ive spoken to my eldest son. Ive seen my youngest daughter and her family. We need to see our middle son now.

Ive always said Christmas is for children and I miss my children now they are all adults but today I didn't miss the stress. Maybe next year I will but certainly not this year.

Hope you've all had a super day.:)
