I see what you mean. The payment can only have come from the debit card details
That is an assumption and as the old addage goes, to assume makes an ašs out of u & me. You are complaining, you are getting official bodies involved and making significant accusations. You need to know if it was a debit card transaction or a DD. If it was a DD then the data cannot come from JL's online process in which case there is part of the story missing.0 -
with items that come from the supplier the supplier would bill the store and the store would bill the customer so the supplier would not have had the card details in the first place. Its like how if people want services like disposal done with the supplier themselves the supplier would bill the store directly so that the store can bill the customer as the suppliers never have any of the billing info.0

An extended warranty for £10.20?0

Perhaps there was a tick box on the on line ordering engine to indicate acceptance of extended warranty? Perhaps this needed unticking and it was overlooked?
I feel we are in sledgehammer>nut territory.
In this situation i would simply recheck the on line transaction for the above possible oversight.
Contact John Lewis who are known for their excellent CS,and then contact my bank to report an unauthorised transaction.
PS I thought most of not all JL electricals already had a 2 year warranty as standard?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

There is but its around £120 and paid in full up front to JL as part of the ordering process so doesnt match either the amount or the merchant0
