Truecall is expensive for what it is.

You can get the BT Nuisance blocker phone (6500) for half the price of TC
  • I had this problem recently with a company called Lowells repeatedly sending text messages to my phone.

I contacted them on the phone number provided and told them they had the wrong number/name/address.

I haven't had any calls since. I am rather surprised as I really thought it would make matters far worse but surprisingly it didn't.
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)
    I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

It takes a little work but Debt Collection Agencies HAVE to tell you who they are if you ask.

So the first call is to ask every caller their name, the name of the company they are calling from and their address.

Inform the caller that you will write to them with a cease and desist letter (you can find examples on MSE and google) under the Protection From Harrassment Act, tell them you withdraw their implied right to call, withdraw their implied right to visit, and if they continue to call that you will make a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office and/or the Police.

You have to follow this up with a letter. Having the name of the person calling is important because you can hold them directly responsible for their lack of diligence.

I'm on year 5 of getting phone calls for Mrs X. Mainly from Lloyd's.They are getting less frequent. I used to get them daily.
I am hoping that after 6 years the debt will be no more. So 1 more year for me. :)

I have even had the local police ring here for her

You get what you pay for.

I got my TC for £50 on eBay. Excellent value. Mckenzie Hall and TV Licencing are my top callers at 32 & 48 respectively this month. All they get is number unobtainable - and also get charged for listening to it too......

The Data Protection Act will come into play. Information must be accurate and up to date.

The debt collectors are holding incorrect info report them to the Information Commissioner www.ico.gov.uk
Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA :D
