Just to say, people can and do get phone contracts on benefits- my brother is on ESA and he has five with Orange- one for me, one for my Mum, one for his daughter, one for himself and one for his wife. He just pays for his though- his ex pays for his daughters and everyone else pays for their own. It's easy enough to fall into problems specially if benefits are cut for whatever reason like the op- however even having a job is not infalliable- people do get made redundant! If it's any help OP- my friend has the same phone and she has problems with her data too.

Don't be afraid. They don't bite.
They know well how bad their CS are and they are the only few people there capable of doing something.
  • If a phone provider is willing to give someone on benefits a phone and contract, then more fool them!!

Benefits are meant to provide a basic standard of living, which doesnt include mobile phones!!

Come on... Nowadays a basic standard does include a mobile phone - just not the one costing £21 p.m. You can easily have a phone with airtime costing you £1 p.m. or even less.

Tell the REP your not paying or tell the debt department your not paying or just ignore the bills and they will still know your not paying.

No matter which way you go they are going to know your not paying sooner or later.

Its not quite as simple as dont pay they take you to court. It may get passed down the debt collector route 1st.

Check the debt free boards and bankruptcy boards so you know howto handle them.
They can chase it for 6 years before taking you to court. Before the 6 years is up they need to have done something though.

Grumbler is quite correct. The Web Relations people are quite different to the rest of Vodafone; they do care and try very hard to understand and help if they possibly can.

I somehow doubt they have any special powers over and above relations or exec office.

I spoke to them re the 118212 increase and they were frankly useless (ive now gone to CISAS and started proceedings there)

"Special powers" with Vodafone means actually trying to hlep; the rest of the company does the absolute opposite.
