  • Apologies in advance as question not totally LV related. I'm in Vegas for 9 nights in November, then flying to Atlanta and doing 3 day return drive to Nashville. I'm price conscious & previously hired numerous 'economy' cars in Vegas but bit baffled by price of Atlanta car hire.

Cheapest car available through kayak is a mustang or similar for £20 a day with compact cars quoted at £22!! Apart from possible reduced demand for convertibles in winter is there anything I'm missing?

Know there are some LV mustang drivers on here so any advice/pointers greatly appreciated.

I bet even if you book a Mustang, you don't get a Mustang.

Dollar at LAS has almost exclusivley Mustangs in their convertible range, so if you want a Mustang my advice would be to hire from Dollar

I cant comment on other companies

Just realised you are renting from Atlanta.....sorry I have no idea

one week today we will be in Vegas!

Just checked in with Alamo online and will be interested to see how this goes. It seems to say I need to go to the counter but also says I can use a kiosk...there is a link that says Bypass the Counter in my email check in confirmation but it just seems to take me to the online check in confirmation on the website where it mentions the kiosk...I can't see anywhere I can do anything that would let me skip the kiosk as well unless I am missing it.

We're visiting family in Chicago first - depending on how Alamo at LAS works I may explore what the Alamo situation is like in Chicago for another trip.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

The kiosks are really easy to use.

I didnt have to go to a kiosk,(I did notice them and there wasnt a queue at them)

Have you joined Alamo insiders? I had to log in to Alamo insiders and followed links on there to print out a confirmation with barcode on and all the details needed to go straight to the lot and choose from about 20 cars

    hope that helps

I went in August 2014, and the packages were available to book with Virgin Holidays from June 2013.

  • Just looking at pictures of The Linq this morning, the rooms look very pretty (if a bit small). Currently, I could book our dates (11 nights next Summer) for £679.05. Has anyone booked to stay there? I'll be interested to see what the reviews are like when it opens - hopefully they've done a proper renovation and not just a facelift
