  • I've edited my list again as I didn't do the Easter things on it in time and have brought a new stocking kit. In may I added a letter for my mums birthday

    1) snow place like home cross stitch, I did this years ago but didn't know how to finish it off/present it so my first is to learn how and back it onto fabric and add to hanger
2)bucilla felt wreath sewing all the characters/items (it's a huge task so I'm splitting into two DONE
    3)assemble and finish the wreath
    4) make Christmas Eve crackers, a sample one by Easter and finish them by august
5)design and make a girl 'baby washing line'
6)design and make a boy 'baby washing line'
7)make Christmas cards for each family member and closest friends
    8) Dumbledore letter DONE
    9) make 'finishing touches' stocking for my Dad
    10) Make a glass pebble/marble magnet DONE
    11) Joy Christmas stocking- nearly there
    12) decorate a wooden wine box and fill with gifts DONE
    13) Decorate a champaign bottle and present it DONE
    14) bucilla advent calendar

For Mums birthday I gave her an IOU for tickets to tour the Harry potter set. As I didn't have the actual tickets to give her I did a special letter instead.

I've not tea bag stained anything since I was at school but used a wet tea bag to make a piece of paper look like parchment, while still wet I sprinkled a few grains of coffee on. Then I wrote in green pen as Dumbledore himself wrote in green and added a red seal with a H on the back. On the front it had Mums name and our address but with 'master bedroom' added.

    The letter said;

    To Mrs D George

Happy Birthday. You are invited to Hogwarts. Sadly you are past the age limit to be a student, your too tall to be a house elf and have CSE's instead of OWLs so can't be a teacher.

Due to this we are inviting you following a bribe from Vikki. You will walk down Diagon Alley, enter the Great Hall and see Hogwarts from dawn to dusk.

Vikki will also bribe us to give you the devices to hear about what your seeing,

    Enjoy your visit,

    A Dumbledore

This is brillianr. Better than just giving the tickets :T

My sewing machine has a cabinet but I was still worried about dust so I decided to make a cover.

I cut the fabric big enough to fit the sewing machine pedal in as well. Then I decided to make a separate bag for the pedal. Hence pleats in the sewing machine cover for a better fit. No one will see the cover as the machine will be covered up when down in the cabinet. I will take the cover off when I raise the sewing machine to working height. I lined both the cover and the bag.

I am storing the Fat Quarters Packs I bought yesterday on the shelf in my sewing machine cabinet.

vikki - that is a wonderful idea :)

I have FINALLY got round to sorting our spare room out and have made a sort of craft corner - it's not much just everything boxed neatly on to a couple of shelves in one corner, but better than it was before so hoping I will get more crafting done again.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

    Hello everyone,

Its so hot - don't take to the heat too good, so been indoors and stitching away.

Wee updates for you, have completed another band of the twisted band - band 7 now complete.

    So here it is

    vikki - great gift idea.
dundee doll - love the cards and the blanket is - wow!
sweetcarer - your stitching is exquisite.
Been having a sort out here - 2 bags of assorted stuff went to the charity shop. Then Mr F took a bag of records out of the house. Now I have another big bag full of various items ready in the hall.
I have a started bag of craft stuff that is leaving my stash - makes me a bit of space as well as money for Cancer Research.
I found a doll that I made a while ago - she is now sitting on top of my computer desk. I hope she will inspire me to start making dolls again. So sharing doll photos as nothing else made yet. Obviously - not a 2014 list item.

Tete a tete cross stitch finished last night, photos to follow.

So that is 12 projects done :)

Picked up the traditional sampler for an hour last night. Didn't get much done on holiday in March so going to make it my next project at home. Would like it finished by end of July.

Having said that my knitted converse baby booties were a bit of a hit and two people have now asked me to make some for their future grandchildren, so that's another two projects to add to the list.

This isn't one of my 14 projects but I had a plan in mind to make some funky candyfloss, this was the result

I've got as far as I can with my stocking at the moment as I've lost the piece of the snowmans body so stuck until I find it. I'm going to make a start on another one, I want to complete 2 before Christmas (one is a fairy baking theme and another is decorating the tree theme)
