I decided to do a fast day on Monday.. then scoffed for England. Decided to try again yesterday but it didn't happen. So third time lucky today :rotfl: I think I've put on 6lb in a month  I'm a skinny whippet normally but seem to have acquired a pot belly through too much booze and chocolate.. oops!!
A q for all you brain boxes (you there AAU?!).. The pomegreat super 8, buy 8 get 8 free.. when you enter the codes, does it give you vouchers or something back? I've entered one but it just says it's been banked.
Hi,tiger......do you collect the pg codes?0 -
I've just been on the budgetting forums and got side tracked by one thread (a woman struggling and cutting back on everything). An hour has just disappeared
She had loads of good things though to reduce outgoings.. Hope she doesn't mind me nicking it
"Just to recap the changes we've made:
Running the washing machine on quick wash for every wash - they come out just as clean
Stopping school dinners once a week and making packed lunches all the time
Wasting absolutely NOTHING. Left over pastry bits are filled with sultanas, cinnamon and honey, rolled like a swiss roll and baked as a sweet treat for packed lunches and left over stew/curries are put into pasty and turned into pies.
Main bulk shopping at Aldi and buying what I can't get from there from Asda
Shopping early in the morning to take advantage of cut price offers before they all go
Planning meals around the reduced price meat Asda has
Freezing what veg we can and taking all fresh veg out of packaging so that it lasts longer
Bulking up things like minced beef with veg and beans so that it can make 2 meals
Making curries in bulk and freezing so I have one day every fortnight I don't have to cook - I just shove them in the oven
Ditching the car and walking more
Using free AVG anti-virus instead of paying for it
Turning radiators off in rooms we're not using and turning thermostat down
Doing much more baking and coming up with creative packed lunch ideas so that I'm not spending money on sandwich fillings
Changing our daily newspaper to the 20p i news
Making my own cleaning products
Questioning everything we spend and asking if we can buy it cheaper elsewhere or if we really do need it
All of these are little changes but all those little changes add up to a big saving.

Same here tiger. Not sure how how I will get through today I have been stuffing far too much sweet stuff over last month. I am expecting to hit a real low this afternoon through lack of sugar. Not even planned my meal for today yet.
Was surprised when I weighed yesterday that I had only gone back up to my starting weight last year, think the couple of days while DD1 was in labour I didn't get time to snack. And obviously driving back and forth is less time to eat.
Let's hope we both get through it today!!Jelly_Biactol wrote: »
Well, I never knew I was such a chatterbox.:)
My friends all tell me I am a typically taciturn tyke.
In fact, a couple of good friends bought me a t-shirt with this painting on it, a self-portrait by Salvator Rosa in 1640;
not because I look like the man (I wish!) but for the inscription at the bottom left, which they thought summed me up; it translates as
"Be silent — unless what you are going to say is more important than silence"Tiger

Don't know if any of you are keen swimmers but some very cheap Speedo goggles on Amazon. £2.99 for Speedo Biofuse should be £18.30.

Thanks for this have ordered few bits for Teeny and couple boys toys for cousins next year.
But who pinched the £2 Monopoly Sunderland out my basket, DD2 has a few friends up that way or I'm sure few of you who live up there would have had it. :rotfl:0
