For a few weeks we've been mulling over getting rid of Sky and moving to BT. Ie losing Sky TV and using BT for calls and broadband.

Broadband is £16 pm but free for 6 months
line rental is either £15.99 pm or £141 for 12 months in advance

Free Sainsburys gift card for £40

BT TV will be £5 per month

We aren't watching much on Sky. DH will pay separately for £3.99 for Eurosport cycling on his laptop.

Set aside tonight to sort it all out

Our monthly payments will drop from £55 to £25

Just decided to check out TCB

    :T:T:T:T:T:T

They are offering £147 for new customers.:T:T:T:T

Thanks to Naebbirac for the link to http://www.justlinen.co.uk/justlinen...e-bedlinen.asp

The Georgia Berry handtowels are priced the same as the facecloths - £1.50 each, plus there is a code for an extra 10% off (ends today).
Had to pay for delivery, but if any of you are buying bedding anyway you may want to add a few (?) of these.
It’s the ‘Berry’ colour only; the other colours are showing as £5.50 each.
    So, I ordered:-

    6 x Christy Georgia - Berry Towels Berry Hand Towel 50 x 90 cm

    Delivery Charge: £4.95
    Order Total: £13.05
    Hope that helps somebody.
    Off to catch up

There are some cheap valanced sheets (90% off plus another 10% with code on site) in the clearance section if anyone is doing an order. This one in gold, and there is also a purple in the same design.

    Evening all

Thank you to all the kind people who helped me with the pomgreat vouchers.
PM receiving an email from you in the middle of the night when my eyes arent so good had me laughing.
    Pom voucher looked slightly different:rotfl:

Busy day today. Monday so bedlinen change day which is washed and waiting for me to hang over banister to dry.
Sorted out my very large storage footstool which is where I keep all Elite activies.
Post sorted to go to ds and his gf.
Spent a lovely couple of hours applying white gouache to white paper before the indian ink for a wash of technique. Hoping this year to list atleast 2 paintings a month on fb selling as will pay for materials as art is a very expensive hobby and I would like a decent set of pastels.

All coupons in order but unfortunately m and s sent me the £5 off clothing not the food one so fingers crossed can find instore.

Dreaded hospital tomorrow then debenhams bra shopping but I do have the £5 voucher they gave me before xmas so hoping to get lucky with a very cheap bra like last year as nothing my size online.
All other vouchers are in order for friday.

Hope flooding is not affecting anyone too much. Bubbs I hope you are settled in your temp home . Was looking at weather reports for the states and they are having coldest weather for decades in some parts. Sunday football went ahead in temperatures of minus 20:eek:
Windy and damp here but not at all cold.

    Be back after catch up

I hope so but will support them through thick and thin they still my lads :D.

Forgot to mention work. Went ok but cook was off she's got pleurisy. She was ill before the holidays and wouldn't have time off. Not sure what pleurisy is but hope she is soon better.
We have mobile cook in kitchen who is nice I know her and worked with her before. So we still are a happy foursome til cook comes back fit and well. :D

I had pleurisy this time last year. it's very unpleasant and painful :( it's a lung inflammation, usually you get it after you've had a cold or other virus. Luckily in my case the worst of it cleared up pretty quickly. I hope she's better soon.

With crusty bread this little lot will make 2 lunches for 2 people.

You don't have to use ginger and garlic if you don't want to.

Just checked the Sains curry powder. It's dated October 2000. Hmmm:)

Sweat the onion add the chopped parsnip, garlic and ginger. Add stock. Simmer till soft.

Blitz with a blitzy thing. Add milk if you want "cream of parsnip"

    Eat the next day:)

    M&S order made :j

Cute maternity nightie, vanilla fragrance oil & xmas gift bag delivered for free :D Happy days!

    Copied from FB:

TWELVE SURPRISING USES FOR VICKS VAPOR RUB

    1. Decongest Your Chest
The most common use of Vicks is to decongest your chest and throat area. When applied to the upper chest, it provides excellent relief of cough and congestion symptoms.

    2. On Your Tootsies
Applying Vicks to your feet provides nighttime cough relief. Generously rub VapoRub all over your feet and cover them with socks. Your cough will subside.

    3. Achy Breaky Muscles
Vicks relieves sore, overworked muscles. It increases circulation and provides almost instant aid. Use a generous portion and apply it over the aching area.

    4. Get Rid of Nasty Nail Fungus
Rub Vapor Rub on your toenails if you suspect you have a fungus. Within days, the nail will turn dark—this means the Vicks is killing the fungus. As your toenail grows out, the dark part will grow off and you will have fungus-free feet. Keep applying the ointment over a period of two weeks to fully cleanse nail beds of any remaining bacteria.

    5. Stop Your Cat from Scratching
To prevent Miss Kitty from ruining your doors, walls, and windows, apply a small amount of Vapor Rub to these areas. Cats detest the smell and will steer clear. Vicks can also be applied to your arms and legs if your kitty is prone to scratching you.

    6. Pet Pee-Pee Deterrent
If your dog or cat is not yet potty trained, put an open bottle of Vicks on the area he or she likes to mark as their territory. The smell will discourage them from lifting their legs and wetting your rug.

    7. Headaches Be Gone
Rub a small amount of Vicks Vapor Rub on your temples and forehead to help relieve headaches. The mentholated scent will release pressure in your head and instantly
    relieve pain.

    8. Humidify Your Sleep
Vicks Vapor Rub can be used in special types of humidifiers and vaporizers. Ensure your humidifier has an aromatherapy compartment before using. The humidifier
will circulate Vicks throughout the air and keep you breathing easy all night long.

    9. Paper Cuts and Splinters
To prevent infection and speed up healing time, dab a small amount of Vicks on any small cut or splinter.

    10. Ticks and Bugs
If you get bitten by a tick, apply Vicks immediately. The strong odor might help get the critter to release itself and stop bugging you.

    11. Reek-free Racehorses
Professional racers smother Vapor Rub under the nostrils of racehorses on race day. The strong stench deters the stallions from the alluring odor of the female pony and
keeps them focused on the race.

    12. Go Away Mosquitoes (love this one!!!)
Apply small dabs of Vicks Vapor Rub to your skin and clothes and mosquitoes will steer clear. If you do get bitten, apply Vicks to the area and cover it with a Band-Aid to relieve itching.

I can vouch for no 12. Learnt the trick in Thailand where they also have a talc with vicks stuff in to relieve sunburn.
It is a miricle cure and if applied to damp skin totally numbs it.
