Second freebie of the day. Very yummy coffee and lemon drizzle loaf! Thanks JL. The guy in the queue before me also had a card and voucher and I wondered if he was on here. Should have shouted chipolata or something
Picked up my £7.50 hamper and I'm very pleased. No way you'd pay more than that but it will do nicely for a January birthday. Also grabbed one of those £3 bowl/cup etc sets after seeing them up close.
Hardly any reduced stuff in the Waities. Only managed some 75p Christmas cards. Oh well!

Hmmmmmm! So the Hydro 5 brazor that arrived today that I had inscribed with Martins for my BIL, is it a ladys razor or a mans? I thought it was a mans but it seems really small?"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Right, done my menu planning for next week (and hopefully a bit longer), so just going to pop into Sada to get the few things I need. (The recipes have been planned round what I've already got, to save some early New Year pennies.)'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Hope everyone who’s feeling unwell starts recovering soon and all those that are on flood alert stay safe. Have all my fingers and toes crossed for Bubbs’ beef to stay flood free!
Not been well myself and been put on antibiotics that I don’t think are agreeing with me
It seems like maybe my free living Ikea Christmas tree wasn’t so much of a bargain after all...Turns out it really was living! I went to turn the lights on it earlier and noticed little specs hanging off the branches.......turns out a whole load of miniscule spider had hatched!! :eek:Manic, panic, loads of spraying everything chucked outside, more spraying, hoovering and now feeling very queasy0 -

Well I'm looking forward to DD starting school :rotfl:
Actually on that point, would like the views of the Elite on this please. DD turned 3 in August but before the xmas hols her preschool gave me an application handbook and advised me to apply for a school place for DD for Sept 2014, is that right?! She started preschool in Setember and already she's due to start school shortly after turning 4?
In England & Wales children 4 by the end of August are offered a place in the school year starting in September. Some schools do have different start dates for children young in the year, others start them all at the same time.
I think legally you can accept the place but inform the school that you won't start to use the place until the term after they are 5.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We took the decs down today and I almost freaked that there was a spider's web at the bottom of the tree - turned out to be a tiny piece of the netting they use to wrap them in. Don't know what I would have done if my tree really did have spiders in it :eek::eek:0
