Honestly kat you've got more than enough for christmas dinner.
You have the following
2 starters
main meal
2 desserts
cheese and biscuits
I honestly think 450g of meat per person is far too much, we don't that much per person on a ordinary day. don't forget with another 2 courses on top equals stuffed people.
Like i say i'm feeding 4 adults and a 13 year old who eats adult portions. So really 5 adults.
I don't do starters just the main and a dessert, but normally were to full after the main.
Don't do the gammon, just cook what you are doing, no one will go hungry. Just relax and enjoy the day
After all everyone is coming to see YOU and your OH not just to get overstuffed with food. so enjoy the day0 -
The recommended serving of meat for the average person is about 100g raw weight so even allowing for Christmas indulgence, I'd say 2kg for 8 people would be plenty! Especially with pigs in blankets as a side. When my mum does roasts for large groups she piles on the veg, I find you don't miss the meat then.0

Hi just to feedback.... everyone was stuffed and we had tons and tons of food thanks! :T
I did do the ham (Nigella's cola recipie) and it went down very well, its a lovely recipie and a nice extra. Gave everyone a thick slice of turkey and 1 of ham, 1 sausage and 1 stuffing. All veg and extra trimmings went on table for self service. Only 2 people had an extra slice of turkey, no sausages left, but loads of stuffing. Have enough turkey left for another for another roast dinner for my family of 4, and then for 2 large pies (using scraps from ham and stuffing too).
If I was doing it all again, I would get a 2kg piece turkey and not do the ham but only because it was an added hassle having 2 meats to cook and prepare. More sausages and less stuffing too next time!.Me debt free thanks to MSE :T0
