A pair of cheap rubber gloves are great for removing dead hair during shedding season
    Coat Sheen Recipe
    1/4 cup baby oil
    2 cups water
    4 tablespoons apple cidar vinegar
    Shake well and apply

Vaseline will smother external parasites like ticks
Watered down steradent (denture cleaner) will remove yellow stains from white legs. Rinse WELL to prevent irritation.

    Hello all

Does anyone have any reccs for cheap horse rugs? or rather good quality rugs at reduced prices?

My (darling) 5yo has outgrown most of the extensive (and expensive) wardrobe I purchased last year

and oldie could do with a couple of new snuggly rugs for the winter

    Thanks, mills x

    Have you tried www.equestrianclearance.com ?

Try asking on the freecycle.com site for your area for some hay. Someone usually has some..
  • In horsey sizes, which is bigger, full or cob? I would have assumed 'full' but it lists them in this order: cob, full, pony, shetland - which to me implies cob is bigger...
:heart2: Give blood. :female: Use a mooncup.
But ensure the two are not connected!

    The sizes go

    Shetland
    Pony
    Cob
    Full
    Extra Full

But sizes between brands differ a huge amount......as a rule of thumb the cheaper the brand the smaller the size.....my haffy can wear a cob size bridle if it's Jefferies or Stubben (expensive:eek: ) but in a cheaper bridle he usually ends up with fullsize headpiece and nose band, cob cheek pieces and a x- full browband as he has a short wide head so in my experience you need to measure up before you buy anything;) . If I buy online I always email first and ask for measurements which I then match to the tack he's already wearing...

For the a new face mask I'd take the one he's wearing to the tack shop and measure it up against the ones there.........

Big thanks to whoever posted about the Pig Oil and Sulphur. I gave the mare one dose (about a tablespoon full) on each leg last weekend, and this weekend there was no heat, no swelling and she's stopped stamping. She has ALWAYS stamped, ever since her current owners got her, so much so they thought it was a habit......
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
