Well cannot get out to shops so do my buying online.
Sorted next years card list and mostly have enough cards in stock.
Made list of items still in my present drawer - not a lot!
Did £10 order with Superdrug - 2 x Lynx sets, 2 x Impulses (for gifts) plus five boxes of candy canes @ 49p each to decorate my pink tree next year - we don't eat them so don't mind the dates!
Also ordered stacks of wrap, labels, few more cards, cupcake sewing set plus 4 x jigsaws from Studio for about £23 - so that will be me supplied plus 5 gifts.
Keeping a running total of these Xmas expenses in my new 79p diary!
On this Christmas - son said his best two gifts were a bottle stopper and screwdriver set I got from £1 shop - would you believe it!Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

Forget to say saved £100 on the house insurance, found a better quote online, so our current insurer, knocked £100 off their renewal quote.
We went a got a bottle of wine for the lady who arranged, sent Grandad Hoodie back to take the wine, the girl was apparently close to tears as no-one else had done anything like that for her bar us. £5 bottle of wine - very well invested! xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
How lovely to show gratitude like that.
Its not the cost is it - its the fact you took the trouble to show appreciation. I'll bet she'll remember that for years.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Dundee doll - well done on the stockings
Mum2one - what a thoughtful thing to do
Can some one post the link to the little stockings so I can make some. Take me all year. Lol . If I can make enough I can do advents for the kids for Xmas
7roland8 sounds like you have some fab bargains too. Well done and candy canes sound ace in the little stockings.
I have a full house until jan. Then a week off before more friends come. To be honest with you I'm fed up with eating.. And got a rotten cold , which is not much in itself because I had a flu injection but it's got onto my chest :-(
Sorry to grumble , I'm happy really lol. We're having the 2 nd christmas today with all the boyfriends and girlfriends , I could do with a day in bed lolChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Susan - can so sympathise!
One or two days and I am sick of sweets and chocolate biscuits and long to get back to just normal.
Didn't buy any really but got given loads - and how can you tell people you don't want them - I just accept graciously!!
Don't think some people appreciate how draining this all can be - especially if you feeling below par to begin with.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Hello everyone,
Can l rejoin the challenge this year? 2013 passed me by in such a blur although l did manage to join in a couple of challenges, l intend to do a much better job this yearbesides l will have more time on my hands what with being on maternity leave with little miss Bambi
I know it's not very money neutral however i did manage to save a lot of money in the sales. I brought enough clothes to last little miss Bambi for the next 2 years!! Instead of spending the RRP price of £370 in all the sales, l actually spent £170!!!! Now that is what I call an absolute saving. And genuinely have made sure she is immaculately dressed for the next two years thanks to buying in a wide range of sizes.
Now my challenge I'd like to set myself this year is to keep as money neutral and saving as possible especially seeing as I will have a culture / lifestyle shock over the next coming weeks.
