New Credit Card Account Alert

Hi all.

My wife has an account with Equifax where she gets Credit Account Alerts if her Credit File changes.

She had an alert yesterday and we've just checked it out and it says there's a new credit card account and the companies name is CCEV0015. We have got a new copy of her credit file and there's nothing on there but also, nothing comes up when googling 'CCEV0015'.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what this could be?

Thanks

  • I have just had much the same. Did you find out who/what CCEV0015 is?
  • Are you all sure it is not a technical problem on Equifax side. since its now clear not your wife alone.

Thanks everyone. It is indeed the last 4 numbers of her Argos store card. I wonder why it's come up as a new account now and why the company name is CCEV0015. She's had her Argos Store Card for years.
  • I just had the same panic! A new CC and the account number is the same 4 digits as my Argos card that I have had for over 10 years. I've not received any mail stating that there are going to be any changes to my account! Going to ring Argos now.

The same information has appeared on my Equifax credit alert.

Thank goodness for the posters at MSE for bringing this to light :-)
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
