buying from china

I'm the same. Toys have a similar problem. From working with importers years ago I know different things they do in China to cut corners and shave money off items, unsafe paints and lead amongst other things. At least items in the UK have to be strictly tested. We may end up paying a premium for them but that's no bad thing in my opinion.
I will quite happily to buy stuff from China if I don't mind waiting for a while. You can get things for a pound or two with free postage that you would pay double if you brought it in the UK. Yet I am very careful over electronic stuff.
I think it was Apple in the US who were giving vouchers in exchange for a compatible charger purchased in China, after a woman was electrocuted using a phone whilst plugged in..0 -
As above cosmetics and paints, Nail varnishes etc may have banned chemicals in them.
Paint someones nails who also bites them and they wonder why they start feeling unwell.
Waiting for more items from china though. Just received 2 watches. One working and one with a dead battery. New £1 shop battery and its all good. Keeping good time.
They do tend to eat batteries but for the price they are almost disposable.
How can they post a packet to the UK with a watch for under £2?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
