Don't ask for a part refund, message the seller and explain what he has done wrong.. and see what solution they come back with.
I once sold a maths exam book for OCR exam board in desp/title and photo said AQA (which it was) I just refunded them as they wanted the OCR one and it was my mistake.
It depends on the seller, but your certainly not at fault as seller has made a mistake.
Come back if your not happy with what they say xPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Tell him it's a SNADOSAURUS ;-)0

Just open a case and say that the item does not match the description. Upload a photo with the case. The seller will have no choice but to offer a return. The only problem is you'd need to return by trackable method like recorded or My Hermes. If the seller is decent they'll either tell you to keep the item or refund your return post.
But if the description doesn't match the item then you are entitled to a full refund. People use stock photos, stolen photos and photos of other items all the time. He may well have different dinosaurs for sale and copied the listings but forget to change the photo.0 -
Thanks everyone again.
I have emailed the seller so will see how they reply0 -
Ask them for a part refund.
Anyone that asks for a partial refund I now ask them to send it back for a full refund. Having some money back isn't going to make you like it/make it fit better and I regard any requests as such to be asking for a discount afterwards.
In this scenario it's always best to contact the seller [as you have done] to give them a chance to put it right. [I would refund and say keep it].
OP what are your expectations - are you still planning to give the dinosaur to your son for Christmas?0 -
I havent decided what to do with the dinosaur, I think i will have to give it to him and blame santas lack of knowledge! unless i can find a replacement but this toy is only available in the states so it is a bit tricky.
It cost £8 to post and cost me £15 so surely they wont just refund me and be out about £25?!0 -
and I dont want to hve to pay £8 to return it!0
-
Well, until you actually contact the seller you don't know if you will have to.0
