    Morning All
Jools thinking of your and your family today.

Tru. The wreath looks great. I have got 2 crocheted Minion Hats to make for Xmas Day, did one and took it to a friend for her granddaughter on Friday. That was the 2 eyed one, these will be the one eyed version. Got a bargain DVD with 3 DVD's the first Despicable Me, Dr Seuss the Loren, & Hop for £5.99 for youngest GNephew to go with the hat - spotted on HUKDeals, from Amazon, delivered with Prime, my free month :D

Nel. Lovely to hear from you again, nice to know I am not the only bad OSer on here, love the Gin my favourite.

Full of snot and self-pity, with a lovely bark, must have come back from Spain too early. As first cone for several years. DH thinks he has it now, but is man flu of course! He decamped to the spare bed last night, as I kept him awake coughing.;)

    Things still to do:
    Make 2 Minion Hats
Wrap DH's, Gt Neice & Nephews presents.
    Ald!
    Veg shop
Take out some local relies card (they are all written)
Take parcel back to Debenhams and collect steamer from Tesco.

    Better get my finger out!!

((Hugs)), Spoons, etc., all round. Take care eveyone. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Lovely wreath Tru.
Moorhen, oh boy yes, very glad.
I'm just having a cuppa with my feet up, I've made 4 lts of turkey soup & 2 doz stuffing balls. I've put my Christmas decs up at one end of the room & my Yule display at the other end, it's a very small room so they almost meet in the middle, I shall wrap the gifts this afternoon & then clean the downstairs toilet, that will be my lot for today. I shall watch a Christmas film later. I like Christmas Carol, either Alistair Sims or Patrick Stewart or the one that was on this morning about Eddie Scrooge the loan shark, I have them recorded, so I can watch whichever one I choose.
    Hugs Hester

Yes; Lizzie the Sprocker Spaniel arrived on Friday, and is with us til Dec 28th.:o She's a very sweet girl, a complete livewire, and very pretty with black-and-white fur. I'll try and post a pic at a later date; am battling impending migraine just now, so will do it later.;)

Hope all who celebrate Xmas are on course with preparations.:o

    Afternoon :D

Busy day yesterday travelling back to midlands but was lovely to see a couple of friends (one my old neighbour) and my parents of course.
Had H's cousin and aunt and uncle visit today. They've now gone so am in kitchen baking cinnamon cake (sponge with added cinnamon), biscuit dough for baking with kids tomorrow and I am attempting to use my Xmas tree silicone tin to make a vanilla sponge for kids. I am not expecting it to be a success quite frankly but shall give it a go.

It's Luna's 2nd birthday today so kids especially excited.

Feeling rather Christmassy, baking in kitchen with Christmas playlist on. :D

I fancy going out for a carvery tonight instead of cooking dinner but will see what H wants to do.

Hugs and spoons all round xx

Jools hugs and more hugs for you, your DS and DD xxx can't believe it's been a year :(

    LW enjoy Lizzie :)

Tru your wreath is fantastic :T

Sorry if I've missed anything major :o

Hi everyone, haven't posted for a while, though I read every day, so I thought I'd come on and wish you all a Merry Christmas! I always enjoy reading everyone's news.
I've been ill for almost 2 weeks now with a nasty chest infection....really fed up with it now. Planning to ring the doctors in the morning and see if I can get an appointment and get something for it. Last week I was told they couldn't give me antibiotics as it's viral, but hopefully they can give me something. I can't walk for more than 5 minutes without being totally out of breath and the freezing cold wind here doesn't help. I went along to M and S this morning which is less than 10 minutes walk and the girls thought I was going to keel over when I got back. Our doctors has a system where you phone at half past 8 to get an appointment.....only problem is everyone else obviously phones then too! Last week it took me 25 minutes to get through.

Going to go and do some more wrapping as everyone's out.....only got girls' stocking presents and a few DVDs to wrap now. I'm ok once I get started, it's just getting started......

Just had a nice surprise. I put youngest DDs bike on freecycle as it's been next door in my mum's garage for about 3 years. I was at work when a man came to collect it, but my mum spoke to him and said he was really pleased with it and thought it was in such good condition it would be an extra Xmas present. Well, he's just been to the door with a nice bottle of wine.....thought it was really nice of him.

Quick question, I've got fresh sausagemeat and puff pastry to make sausage rolls for boxing day. I want to prepare them on Xmas Eve. Do I make them but not cook them and put them in the freezer?and then defrost and cook them? Or make them cook them and freeze? Or make them cook and stick in fridge?

    Thanks.....

    Good evening everybody,

First chance to post really, though I had a quick look in earlier and got disturbed.

Jools, sending you lots of hugs today xx

Busy day again, dog training early on but we've broken up for hols now. We've finished our 2nd lot of 6 sessions, not sure if we'll return for a 3rd,though we do enjoy it ,it would be nice to get our Sunday mornings back.Took her out for a walk straight after while we were in our boots, quick bite to eat ,then off to see DH Aunt and Uncle,88 & 91.

We found out a couple of weeks ago that she has cancer and it can't be operated on,but she seems ok on the whole though looking a bit frail as she has lost her appetite. She said she really felt like baking this afternoon but knew she'd get told off by her son :) We stayed a couple of hours, then called into sm before they shut at 4,needed 2 selection boxes & picked up a ys pork joint while we were in.2 Belgian choux buns fell into the basket as well :D

DS has just been for a bit with baby Freddie, his OH was on a Xmas meet up so I got to feed and change him :) DS seems full of a cold and wheezy so I told him to go and have a power nap-he and Dh have been working very hard, and he's awake with night feeds too so is a bit kna(*ered.

Meanmarie-I'm feeling a bit casual about Xmas this year too,not got the turkey yet but hoping to go on our local market tomorrow.Might get a gammon joint too if they arent too dear.I'm sure there is a small one in the freezer but its right at the bottom, and I like leftover gammon to feed us on Boxing Day etc.

Happy Birthday Luna from Lyla :D
Very impressive garland Tru,and thanks for the carols this month.
Hope your migraine shifts LW and you enjoy your doggie visitor.

Off to prise DH away from wheeler dealers and remind him its the last in the series of Homeland shortly,if I can stay awake ;)
