Morning chums very wet 'n'windy here this morning.I am going to nip to Faversham to drop off sis-in-laws pressie from DD and to go into the Macknade farm shop as they have such delicious stuff in there, and their eggs are gorgeous and usually double-yolkers.Bit of baking to do this morning when I get back, probably a Victoria spounge for DGS Jack as a treat for him.I also want to make a carrot cake for DD.So the kitchen will smell rather nice today :):)
I hope you are all well in front with your preparations as I know this is a busy time for most of us.I make the sausage rolls and mince pies for my tribe, usually on Christmas Eve.I have all the stuff in the freezer so don't need to queue up at the butchers.
Right I'm going to have a nice warming bowl of porridge for breakfast as it will fill me up for the morning and keep me going until lunchtime.I like mine made with water then a bit of milk around the egdes and a sprinkle of salt on top.:):) Way my old Mum made it for years.
Take care everyone and have a nice day what ever you are doing and <<hugs for those who are sad and missing someone>>

Wow the wreath is amazing , you are very clever :T:T and I am slightly jealous as my knitting skills are very average

  • Morning all

DS has another cold! Poor boy was up again in the night due to coughing and sneezing, cannot believe it he has only just got over one after having the tummy bug, hopefully it clears off in time for him to enjoy Christmas.

The weather is very wet and blustery here today, so staying in home.

    Jobs for today are:
Write list of last min bits & bobs I need from town
DH is doing the xmas food shopping so need to write a list for him to although I don't think he will be going till tomorrow
    Hoover all downstairs
    finish the ironing
    wrap 2 presents
    prepare dinner.

Lamb chops, roast spuds and veg for dinner today, dh has asked for a pudding too so I'll have a root through the cupboards and see what I can come up with, most likely be a sponge pud.

Scarlettsmum - Hope your tablets kick in soon x
Tru - your wreath is beautiful, you are very clever x
Juliegeorgiana - Hope your mum feels better soon x

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday ....((hugs)) to those that need them xx

    Morning all!
Tears and snot tripping me already, and Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan can be heard drifting out of DS's room as we speak!
Can't believe its been a whole year since we lost OH! Will go to the cemetery with some flowers and have a chat and a bit of a cry with DS, DD is working and the gates will be locked by the time she gets home. The only OS likely to take place today may well be clearing a space in the booze cupboard or wine rack, so with that in mind I wrapped the presents yesterday.
    Have a good day all!

    Morning all,

Hugs for all the poorlies and snifflies this morning, hope your feeling better for Christmas.
Had a busy day yesterday reorganising my kitchen and laundry cupboards. Dh did most of the lifting and feeling much more organised now for Christmas.
Just need to put away the washing this morning and then a hot shower. I've woken with a very stiff neck, so I'm sat with a hot wheat bag on it. I'm trying my best to not take too many painkillers so hope the heat will sort it out.
I've dug out my crochet hooks and various bits of wool. I've got a couple of books somewhere as well, so want to get back to making some little bits. It's so relaxing and once my leg has been done I will have a lot of time sitting around recuperating so should keep me busy. My first project is some fingerless mittens, that's the plan anyway
I loved the Strictly final and glad the winner won, I think she was the most improved throughout the series , I won't spoilt it for those who want to catch up.
Off to my Ds2 and DIL to be for lunch so no cooking Hurray:T
Have a lovely Sunday all x

(((Hugs))) jools. Thinking of you today xx

MSE is not remembering my user name and password all of a sudden even though I'm ticking remember me, any ideas what I can do?
  • Jools ((((((Hugs))))))

Managed to get all the bedding washed this morning and it is all on the line. There will be no more washing done here until after Christmas now.

Got a lovely bruise on my arm from yesterday :(

DD, DH and DS have just gone to take the pressies to the outlaws so I have an hour or so with the house to myself.

Roast beef today and I want to have dinner at 1pm so that I can relax and we can all sit and watch a Christmas dvd this afternoon.

I will start the major clean up tomorrow when I get back from town and then all I have to worry about is getting all of the food made and prepared on Christmas Eve. Once I start the Christmas Eve Bakeathon, I really get into the Christmas spirit (In more ways than one ;) )

Right I had better get on

    Have good days all x

    Morning all,

First of all, hugs to Jools and your DD and DS today, its going to be a hard day for you all, I shall be thinking of you, will be on FB later on if you need to chat / rant, lots of love xxxx

Nice bright day here, got the wm on the go, think it will be going most of the day, I want all the beds changed before xmas, I might go up to the laundrette to dry it all so its all put away before the big day.

Wrapped most of my presents yesterday, just need to wrap dd's which I will try and do later on. OH still has to go into town at some point, he was a complete star yesterday and cleaned my oven for me, its an aga type with 2 big ovens and a job I hate, so he earned many brownie points yesterday.

Woke up in the night and realised I did not have any potatoes or parsnips ! I thought I was so organised, so need to grab them from somewhere today.

Tru that is another of my favourite carols, I love your wreath, and Elf too we watched Elf the other day too I love it !

Have good days all, thoughts to those missing someone special this year xx
