could you live on £350 per month?

I live on £500/month in total - rent, bills, food, everything. Mind you it helps knowing it's optional (I save the rest of my salary).
£170 each/month pocket money is plenty providing you are careful.

I'd consider having that left over each month a good month and it's about what my budget works out to. At the end of the month I've no cash and haven't missed out on anything.
So yeh, my family of 5 live on that quite comfortably.0 -
Hi :hello:
as it's only for 5 months and assuming you are not shopaholics you should be ok... at least you know the end is in sight:j Where there is a will there is a way - there is a way and I will find it :j0 -

HELL YEAH!0 -
OMG yes easy! I have that to live on after rent alone, I pay for food, school dinners, heating, electricity, broadband and all other expenses plus I can hopefully get a night out a month but do drive and dont drink (my mothers car, insurance paid in full with reclaimed bank charges)
Oh theres me and my dd, and we have a great time!
Check out the oldstyle thread, it's fantastic!

could you do it??
Easy. I would be so happy to own my 1st house that I wouldn't need to spend much money. I would sit in the garden or in the bedroom and love the feeling of never having to rent from a landlord ever again. That feeling is worth hundreds of £££s to me. Alternatively, if you want to go on foreign holidays and buying new cars etc you should not be buying a property. It is all about priorities.0 -

I am surprised the house price crash brigade have not trashed this thread. No doubt they will be along soon, but meantime here is some reading http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=485175Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
We have had a few months of £400 a month for 2 adults and two children, so yes I think it will be fine.0

I apologise if it's a stupid question with an obvious answer, but what's the £350 for if you've paid your bills and bought your food? I think £350 is quite a lot to be left with.0
