if we buy our first house, after bills, food, fuel etc we will have £350 per month for 2 adults, only for 5 months as a big loan £400 is finishing.

I have £150 left at the end of month and I manage to survive. Me and my OH don't have the greatest of fun at the moment but we know that it isn't going to last forever and you just have to think that every month you are one step closer to being debt free

Personally i would find it tight but its doable! We are quite lucky and will have about 1k after everything is paid possibly more but i know we are quite fortunate really. If you loan is finishing at least you know its only short term0

thanks for your help, i know it will be tight but its only for 5 months so we can always not live there til xmas and just pay the mortgage x0

£350 is nearly £100 a week pocket money. Unless you binge drink I dont see a problem?0

Student on full loan and grant gets £500 a month. Take out rent and students are living on £250 a month (or less) and find themselves down the pub a lot
