Hi Everyone!
I am interested in getting an internet dongle where I can watch youtube and videos and stuff. Due to personal circumstances, I cannot get broadband at home. Can anyone suggest a company that does a decent amount of internet data for a reasonable price?
Thanks in advance!

Best bang per buck is Three unless you count low volume low price products like Ovivo - pay one off fee for the SIM get data free but get some adverts too - I think they recently increased data but it still wouldn't be enough for much streaming. I think you'd need the Three One plan for any serious streaming.0

The first question should really be: which network can give me a decent 3G signal at the location at which I need to use it? Everything else follows. No free lunch, and no free laptop

True.
You can use http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/ to spot nearby cells but the only real way to know is to try it - obviously having some friends try using smartphones on different networks would help but the only real way to know if you get adequate performance is to try it out. They all have a returns policy if it doesn't work out but they tend to be very short - order of days not weeks - so check carefully before buying.
If you really want to do much streaming you need unlimited and few offer true unlimited apart from Three on their One package.0 -
Video streaming over 3G is not ideal, even with a good signal you share the resource with others using the same chain of masts back to the interconnection point.
Peak times will see you struggling as the capacity will often be stretched to breaking point - it is a useful fall-back, but will never replace fixed BB through cable or xDSL0 -

Broadband replacement here, 200gb this month, iplayer. 4od, Netflix. Lovefilm etc etc all work without issue. Multiple devices connected at once, usually a tablet, 2 phones and the nowtv box or xbox and it works fine.0 -
If the OP lives in a 4G area they should go straight to a 4G dongle. 4G is a real alternative to a fixed line connection and good for most activities, albeit it will be more expensive overall. There are some deals around however, and PAYG is available (O2 seem best for 4G PAYG).
Three don't yet have a 4G network. EE, Vodafone and O2 do.0 -
A Dongle is a waste of money. invest ur money in a good PHABLET. get a 3 network sim card then top up with £15 everymonth and on u go. watch as much youtube and videos as u like.
i have NOTE 3 and thats what i do.
