Chocs - lovely to hear from you :j How are you? Thank you for all the input and wise words too - yes, i can't look at MB until after uni
KC - thank you for your input too - after uni i will be swotting up and aiming to get the £150 together to maximise profit
Tc - well done with the decluttering. It was like that when i first started out - overwhelming. I think thats why i cut it down to focusing on just 1 bit at a time so not the whole bedroom but eg the bedside cabinet and tjen not even all of it at once but the top of it. Then drawer by drawer - of course i'd keep going if i felt i could but if not i'd know what i'd done i'd done wellAlso the focus reined in my butterfly tendencies
Cheery - a decluttered house isn't for everyone as long as you are happy that is what matters:rotfl: Re. the 1 cluttered room at your mums - i know so many people who do that but they do have bigger houses than us so a whole double bedroom full of piles like hills of stuff - it does leave me a bit *yikes* though and makes me think that if it is all just chucked in there (thats what it looks like) can they really need it?
Watty - it is great isn't it the way a whole room looks different often just by lots of small things being moved
PB - you are doing fab :T When there is alot to tackle maybe it is best to scale it down to a manageable level - whatever works for youIf you need any help though you can always holler - i know how hard it is to do things on your own x

Hello Dedicated : nice to have you back!DedicatedDFW wrote: »I love popping into my diary and seeing all the chatter
I have been MIA for a few days simply due to tiredness. I am not overdoing things but i seem to have times where i have lots of energy - so i need to make the most of that - and other times where i am extremely tired and even walking is a huge effort
Don't worry though if it lasts a while i do get my thyroid checked but i think this week has been more down to not having a single full nights sleep
I'm sorry that you have been feeling pants, but there is a good chance that it is down to not sleeping. What causes you to not sleep? Stress? Noise? Something else? I hope you manage to knock it on the head soon enough as it must be draining.DedicatedDFW wrote: »PB - you are doing fab :T When there is alot to tackle maybe it is best to scale it down to a manageable level - whatever works for youIf you need any help though you can always holler - i know how hard it is to do things on your own x
To be honest, I think it's fair to say that it has been an unmanageable amount. I've got rid of a fair amount and I have a huge amount stacked here in the living room to get through. My hallway looks like a bombsite (must tidy/hoover/mop that later) but my bedroom looks like a normal person could sleep there for once, so it is working.Ebay *finally* invited me to their free listings days, so I'm going to take photos of all the books in my 'to be disposed of' pile today, and hopefully clothes related things tomorrow. I need to sort out some old stuff to do with a course I did a while back as well as that needs to go and could be worth some decent cash as well. I'll try to photograph them after my Ebay glut.
I also have to do some paperwork and get really organised. Today looks like it will be boring but necessary. Please kick my bum into making sure I get stuff done as last night's list (as on my thread) only really saw the wine decluttered!
I'm glad everything apart from the sleep (and the computer!) seems to be going OK for you. Let's hope it stays that way and improves in those areas as well.

I should confess that on top of our generally 'full' house, we also have two rooms that it's *very* difficult to get into...One is the cellar - things are slowly creeping up the stairs and very soon I won't be able to get in there at all  The other is what is referred to as the 'workshop' - technically spare bedroom (although it's never been used as that) - it has a workbench and a load of tools - and everything else that won't fit anywhere else in the house
 Something will have to be done at some point I fear!
But, as you say, one tiny thing at a time. This weekend I'm painting front and back doors (which isn't really decluttering, but the paint had peeled off so badly they were down to the bare wood and looked really scruffy and were going mouldy  so I guess it's kind of essential maintenance!)0 -

Morning all,
PB - the stuff you are doing is more time consuming than alot of the things i did on my list - i just listed everything because it needed doing and things like shredding cards is the sort of job that takes less than a minute but that i can leave for weeks and there is then a build up of lots of jobs.
I had asked my Mr to put up the shower curtain - clearly its on my list now as its not done and i don't want to look at the new curtain sat waiting on landing for the next few weeks. I've not done it yet but will - i find it hard with my bad shoulder to stretch like that but it will look better when its up
I bet if everyone listed all the other things they did as well it would be just as long as my list
Cheery you are being wonderfully productive with painting and varnishing :T When i first read that stuff from the cellar was creeping up the stairs i thought you meant things were being lifted out and sorted out but now i realise  Yep, definitely a good idea to tackle it to make sure you can still get in the cellarOne of the reasons i am happy with the decluttering - apart from it feeling good lal these things going  is that it is so much easier to get at the stuff i do need and want to use. Everything that has been sorted out is in the right place and everything is easily accessible. This encourages me more to get stuff done as i'm not thinking 'but i'd need to move x y z first' which in itself is tiring jut thinking about it! and then i can't b bothered
So i am saving time too as it is just so quick to get to what i want to now
