Some networks do cap their contracts on request, but I've never heard of O2 doing this.
If it's the same small 250Mb allowance you need either to switch mobile data off altogether or disable all automatic updates and use some app reliably controlling the usage if such app exists.0 -
250mb is nothing - however a number of apps will ignore an active WiFi connection and use mobile data. The only way to ensure non use is to turn MD off, leaving WiFi as the active connection.
As Grumbler notes, a usage cap is an extra facility some networks offer but not man of as this would be a restriction on their ability to profit from their investment (your contract). Just get an app that tracks data usage and then stop using when the limit is reached until the next months allocation becomes available.0 -
I have an o2 phone and if I reach my data limit for the month, o2 "throttle" my data speed so its practically impossible to use...... I have therefore never overspent due to data usage.0
