  • Lizzie try using oats, put some in the end of a pair of tights and running it into a bath. When I was googling natural cleansers I cam across this girls page, she's got pictures of how red and sore her face is and it looks fantastic now.

    Hi all,

Thank you Bitsy did this last night and also rubbed the oats onto my skin which definitely provided some relief. :)

NoahsPennilessMummy If using oatmeal it's more beneficial to use colloidal oatmeal directly in the water..... But it can make water slippy so be careful!

Not sure what these are but will have a look thanks. :)

LL good word think fun is something we all need but sometimes forget about as we struggle with our daily lives. :)

Still not feeling too good will do another bath later after I've been out walking not looking forward to it it's awful weather here.
Have a good new yr everyone.:)

I am in the zone this morning :D

Straight out of bed and into the shower, moisturised from head to toes and the full face care regime. Dressed in comfy clothes. Just enjoying a [STRIKE]reasonably[/STRIKE] healthy breakfast before going to put on some makeup and getting my hair straight and shiny for the day. A dash of perfume and I will be ready!

  • Hi Ladies

I did join you in the past but only lurking in recent threads so I'm rejoining you. I had a big year in 2013 moving back to the UK and although I want to move house again next year, I'm reasonably settled now.

I think LL and Lizzie have both chosen good words but mine is much more boring and I'm going for organised. I am very guilty of getting up in the morning, wearing something that doesn't need ironing, not eating breakfast and then just going off to work and when I get there buying a sandwich for £2 that I could make myself. I always used to be organised but have got out of the habit so I'm working on that next year.
  • Afternoon everyone. I'm on day 3 of the regimen. Can feel my skin drying a little but I read it's normal early on and I just keep using plenty of moisturiser. I'm not sleeping well due to DS2 climbing in my bed every night, got a twitchy eyelid today which is usually a sign to grab an early night. Hubby wants a romantic evening tonight though so not sure how I'm going to juggle both! Got so much housework but it's very hard with the two boys under my feet!
  • Heebie - Organised sounds like a word I could do with :) and actually it is something I want to be more in 2014. To do those meal plans to use up bits, to send the children to school in ironed tops, to make children's packed lunch the night before so I have time to put a bit of make up before I go to work!

Worked today for a few hours. Company is technically on shut down for a week, but it means I can have 2 extra days days off. It meant OH spent time with kids and I can I have a day off when they are back at school sorting and clearing with no interuptions.

Lizzy - I can second porridge oats in tights. My girls had eczema when they were little and it was brilliant at soothing it.
  • I can't believe I'm saying this but think I'm ready to go back to work... fed up of sofa time and need my routine back.

    Am I bonkers?!

  • I'd like to join in if I may ?

I lurked last year and it helped me get my mind in gear and shift 2 stone (I've but 7lb back on recently so need to shift my bum again)

I need to get back to taking make up off at night ( got in habit of sleeping in it on the occasions I had time to put it on !)

as others have said I need to get organised, I work full time with young children.

My word for 14 is FOCUS
I tend to start something and just not have the time to finish it.

My work/home balance is completely one sided I need to re-evaluate for the sake of my sanity and also for the kids as I get to spend very little time with them.

So my first resolution is to get back into running and then to give up the fizzy drinks!!

Will try to post this text rather than just reading

  • Hi, I just stumbled upon this thread and sooooo want to join. I am def in need of sorting myself out! I have so many goals that I want to achieve this year so I need to have a think about those and choose where to start.
I am ashamed to admit that I am still in my pjs and have been in them all day cos I couldn't be bothered to get dressed. Right thats it! Thats my first goal - to get dressed every day and get out of bed before midday ( I am on holiday from work) Please can I join before I turn into a complete slob?
  • Good Evening Lovely Ladies

Well only one day of 2013 left and then it will be a new year and a new ballgame…..

Focus & Organised - great words.

I went to a seminar some time ago and the buzz word for that weekend was "Focus". I made it one of my mantras and it has certainly helped me.

Get up and go - definitely time to "Focus on You". It's not selfish to focus on our own needs, we need to take care of ourselves, to be fit and healthy, to be content and happy so that we can better face whatever life throws at us.

Our children are young for such a short time - definitely try and spend as much time with them as you can - they will thank you and love you for it in the years to come. A spotless house is not the be all and end all. Quality time with your children is far more important.

Today I managed to see my mum, my sister and then spent a lovely couple of hours with DS1 - so a very nice day. Just back from seeing OH, so will pour myself a well earned glass of wine and relax for a while before a nice early night.

I've gone back to using oatmeal in my bathwater and have ditched the bubbles. Shame because I really love a bubble bath but my skin doesn't. I add a few drops of essential oil into the water to make it smell nice.

Too Much Worry - Getting washed and dressed is a very good place to start. It's all about baby steps.

Ok for all you newbies who haven't followed the thread before - here is an exercise for you.

    See next post…..

Nope. I am craving my old routine TBH. It's been a fantastic Chrustmas but am ready for thing to get back to normal. Just can't function as wll with everyone home, lounging around while I try and carry on.
