Been Mia due to lack of sleep and a distinct lack of fabbing :o

I have been walking most days usually at a good pace and returning with slightly sore legs. However due to an intense junk food and sweetie obsession I have not lost any weight and I look tired and flabby. Ordered a healthy shop for next week so hoping to improve, I can also start to exercise again so the fitness DVDs are at the ready.

Today I sorted out my clothes :D all the maternity ones have been put away and I cleared out three carrier bags of pre-pregnancy clothes that do not make my heart sing. I have enough to be going on with and I will put away a monthly amount so that when I lose weight I can update my wardrobe with clothes I love.

Huge admiration for your enthusiasm rummer, despite lack of sleep.

A wardrobe cull is a very therapeutic exercise. I'm delighted that I can now hang up my coats without having to prise them in.

When I was losing weight I managed to get by on spending very little. I bought some bits from charity shops and a few cheap basics from places like Sainsbury's and Matalan. I found the CS buys good for experimenting with colour too as I find it really hard to spend money on other than neutral things.

Wedding went off well yesterday but almost had a disaster with my hair. My hairdresser phoned about 8 a.m. to say that he was having to cancel as, although he's on the top floor of a three storey building, the ground floor was flooded and hence all the drains. Before I had time to rethink how I was going to make myself look presentable, he called back and offered to wash my hair in a bucket!! I suggested washing it myself at home and then he could do the cut and blow dry. Crisis averted.;)

Don't mean to sound !!!!!y :o but the obesity crisis really obvious at the wedding. I'm surprised by the large number of overweight young people, particularly women. Even the bride, although in a gorgeous dress, could have done with losing a couple of stone and the same could be said for many of the guests.

After staying over in wedding hotel, we had a lovely drive home and stopped to look around Jane Austen's house. Despite the floods, countryside is really starting to show some promise of spring: loads of catkins and snowdrops.

Sun is shining here! Hope it is with all of you.:)

Never been on your own for a weekend before??? You so deserve this!! I really hope you have the absolute best of times. Do enjoy all the fabbing opportunities. Have a great time.:D

    Oh and where in Wales??

We were at the Vale of Glamorgan hotel. No idea what it's near in Wales but wasn't far from Jct 34 of M4 :o

Had a lovely weekend, got back yesterday after lunch. Was a much needed break for the two of us. Won't say I quite feel raring to go today (thanks to cat messing about at 5am) but definitely feel like the happiness tank has been topped up and batteries had a recharge :)

Hope you've all had a fabulous weekend. More rain predicted down here so I think I may as well abandon hopes of styling my hair ever again. Between wind and rain it rarely resembles what it started out as

Rummer well done on the wardrobe cull :)

Maman I'd love to go to Jane Austen's house :) glad hair crisis was averted :T

That's some swish hotel bitsy! It's just west of Cardiff and often used by big teams playing at the millennium stadium. What a treat!

Yeah apparently it's the Welsh rugby official hotel. Not that I'd recognise a welsh ruby player if I tripped over one lol
The bar was full of welsh rugby fans on Saturday watching the game against Ireland. Hubby for some reason wasn't keen on going down to be the Irish contingent :rotfl: (his dad is from Ireland).

  • Hi Everyone

Hope you are all well and not been blown away or succumbed to the flooding. All ok here, lots of fields etc under water but rivers ok at the moment.

Have been really busy preparing house no 2 ready for the trades tomorrow - several tip runs.

It's very hard to look glam when you are covered in plaster dust and doing tip runs………

Bitsy - your weekend sounds like heaven. I'm sure you feel thoroughly pampered now.

Rummer - you sound as if you are going great guns - a wardrobe cull makes you feel good doesn't it.

Well ladies - I'm not aware that I've done anything special but whatever I'm doing it's working. I am feeling quite trim and can now wear my skinnies with ease - don't know how but I've definitely lost inches, if not actual lbs. Also seemed to have dropped a dress size.

Must be a combination of all this manual work, healthy eating and pilates…..

Early night tonight - leccy blanket and a good book - all snug and cosy whilst I listen to the wind roaring away outside.

    Good morning all

Meant to comment on this the other day.

Maman you are so right about the number of really young women who are overweight - even teenagers.

Apart from the fact that they probably don't feel very attractive because of the extra weight the worrying thing is the long term health issues - type 2 diabetes, heart attacks, strokes etc
They are definitely putting their health and quality of life at risk.

Glad to hear that the hair disaster was averted;).

Pilates this morning then some shopping with DS2 - choosing bathroom tiles and accessories - the fun stuff!!!

So will wear my joggles to pilates and take something nice to change into before we go shopping.

    Don't forget it's Fab Friday.

Hope you are all ok and not suffering in the floods.

    OK here so far……..

I did feel thoroughly rested and pampered LL but back to earth with a bump with stress with DS.
Meh am really fed up with the rain. It's bad hair days galore here. Bedraggled and windswept is surprisingly NOT a good look on me. Wear a hat I end up with hat hair. No hat and thanks to the damp all my kinks in my hair go wild :( Thankfully no flooding where I live so I count my blessings there.
Lots of comfort eating going on thanks to stressful week but I am using the juicer to make proper fresh orange juice :) Have wondered if. I am lacking in vit D so I have started taking those too. I don't normally suffer with SAD (I am naturally a winter person) but lack of quality daylight for so long I think is taking it's toll.

Hope you are all safe, dry and survived the awful weather on Wednesday.
Happy Valentines Day. Whether you have a significant other or not (or don't like the one you do have) just enjoy the love you do have in your lives, wherever it comes from :D

  • Been a bit manic over the last month, so haven't managed to post anything but loved reading about what everyone else is upto.

As for my own Fabbing, this seems to have gone a bit to pot. If either I'm not working, or I'm not doing school run, then I manage to make myself look presentable. I can't seem to manage school run, make-up on and getting to work on time!!

I just looked at myself in the mirror and apart from looking very tired my skin looks very rough. After my exam next week (focusing on my mind), I'm going to make a better effort to look after my skin too.

LL congratulations on your toning success :D

I went shopping and got some long jumpers to wear over leggings so I feel better dressed. Also got a body scrub anybody butter to try and perk my skin up a bit.

This week I have been going for plenty of walks and returned to badminton which was fun. Dancing starts this week too :D However I am looking for some fitness DVDs to do at home. I have the 30 day shred but that is too much ATM as I am still tender from my section so recommendations of more sedate ones would be great.
