The tablets I have had so far have had mini HDMI ports. So have a lead for them and a standard one for connecting a laptop.

I certainly wouldn't pay what tesco are asking for their leads. I don't think I paid more that £5 each for the two I already have and I know I could have got them even cheaper but didn't want to risk it.

I might buy an adapter , if I can find a UK seller, and save adding to the spaghetti of cables under the telly, (HDMI, USB, numchucks etc which seem to be the requisite stuff of modern TV viewing, and that's before you get to the spider's web behind the TV!)
