Today I rejected the price hikes from VM and cancel in 30 days. They did offer to reduce my bill by the £3 difference which I initially agreed until they told me it would start a new 12 month contract (NO THANKS VM!!!).
I have no idea who to go to now. We only use the freeview tv, not big tv watchers. We are heavy internet users (well me mainly as I'm at uni) and rarely touch the house phone which we only ever receive marketing calls on. Sky would want £
Any idea where to go? Who's good? I really don't want to be without the internet especially as it's towards the end of an assignment. We are currently paying £38 per month which I think is a rip off and would like to half it.
Thanks in advance

I'm in the same boat. I think I'm going to just take the 30MB fibre broadband from VM, without the line rental, tv or phone. I use a mobile from T-Mobile already, so can use that or find another mobile deal.
TV can be via Freeview, or streamed from iPlayer, Tesco TV etc.
That should bring it all down to £25 a month for the BB & whatever I use on my mobile.0 -
If you are dumping VM cable, then before you can get any other broadband service, you'll need a BT-based line installing or reconnecting. From £130 down to zero.
Since broadband is exchange-specific, start with an exchange search on samknows.com for your LLU options. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you can get TalkTalk at your local exchange, give them a try a new line from them would cost around £50 but if you call them you can normally get that line install for free or get a £50 credit on your bill.
Their customer service can be hit or miss at times, but you can get a great deal from them
Currently I have their PlusTV package which includes Unlimited Broadband (I was skeptical about them slowing things down, but they don't! this month I've used 489GB of downloads, streaming and online gaming!), unlimited anytime calls and a youview box, I've also got their Sky Entertainment Plus addon so my monthly bill comes to £30.50 as I pay line rental on an annual basis.
No complaints so far since switching back

I use to be with Aol for broadband, I was with them for 8 years, generally 95% of the time they were ok, but I did have a problem with them and ended up cancelling, I was paying £10 a month, unlimited broadband, and all calls included, (expect mobiles and the 0870 etc numbers).
I now have BT infinity - unlimited, phone rental, unlimited calls, BT vision (which is currently free as a basic package - if I want to upgrade it I can do and pay extra), but my BB is £26 a month, then add phone on I'm paying £46 (plus any chargeable calls).
But talk talk - if you go the whole hog they can be a lot better value xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
