Still need to do some following up and amending documents for that work lead, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow now, I'm tr!s sleepy. Found some more work things to look into today anyway so everything's moved on apace nonetheless.
What a bizarre day it's been, so mild when I first went out the door but of course five minutes later was when the great blue storm clouds swept over and fat raindrops thundered down and the gales unleashed themselves and finally broke my on-its-last-legs umbrella. Woe. I only went out to do an errand for Mr M, he's going to have to check the weather reports before setting up missions for me in future(!). Did manage to take out two bags of charity shop stuff and dispose of them and also find a small present for Mr M's birthday so not a total loss.
Have something of an extended family kerfuffle going on in the background which won't be going away any time soon, so feeling a bit drained from that. I was going to try and do super duper things like exercise and attempt not to eat, drink and be merry this evening but now that I've discovered that all four books I have from the library are due back in on Wednesday and I've not read them (despite renewing them three times, oops) I think I shall pour myself a glass of something delicious and see if I can do one the honour of being having its pages turned. Ooh err.a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. Sorry about the family kerfuffles, but well done on the very MSE M & S shopping yesterday! I keep meaning to try them for that as they are literally the cornershop for us!

A new M&S food has just opened by us so next Sunday I will try lurking around the shop to see if I can get some bargains too. Well done:T

Habibiboo, Crumpets - good luck with your bargain hunting
Our shop doesn't always collect reduced fridge/other bits in one place, so sometimes it's a case of carefully scanning the shelves
LGP - decluttering is getting there slowly, it doesn't help that I need to ponder for about 15 minutes every time I think I might get rid of something. :rotfl:
Crumpets, I had a very jolly time reading my book (Silent Comedy by Paul Merton), not sure staying up til 1.30am reading it was necessarily the wise thing to do though. And now I've got a list of Silent Films I want to work my way through... I've just recreated more work for myself. :rotfl:
Life news... I can finally see the end of the tunnel with the laundry. :T Booked train tickets up to my parents last night, I could weep - £140 for both of us, not including the £55 free first class ticket redeemed through loyalty points (yay), and not including a couple of other travel stints that will need to be paid for at both ends. That's with advance tickets as well, I wouldn't normally mind (too much) but it's at the very wrong time of me to be shelling out such an amount (Christmas/birthdays/work dries up at this time of year = less money coming in.. hence the reason for seriously changing work situation, so nose firmly back on grindstone with getting that sorted). Granted the above includes roughly £15-20 extra for first class tickets (worth it due to distance & the amount of food & drink we'll then get free on the journey - will make sure I get my money's worth!), but argh. It sent me into a bit of finance-related sadness/panic spiral, but I combed through my accounts and plotted the course for the next several months so feeling a bit calmer and more in control now. Will be on a bit of a tight ship for the foreseeable unless circumstances change drastically in the next couple of months (which really, there's no reason why they shouldn't so must remember to remain calm on that front), so as long as I stick to the Plan Of Action things should work out fine and dandy. Absolutely no more frivolous spends though, maybe not even warranted ones either. Oh, might make myself a work-related list later on to keep myself on track.
Today is mostly going to consist of laundry, reading, finishing off/chasing up worky bits and then finally catching up with everyone else on here (hooray!). Might make several pitstops to declutter some festive munchies that are languishing on the coffee table... that are calling me.... calling me....a penny picker upper. Wow, what a difference that will make :j:j:jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
