Couldn't get far enough away from the light pollution to see anything more than a faint green glow. *shakes fist in general direction of streetlights* Had a nice time soaking up the wide expanse of starry sky nonetheless - and I saw a shooting star! :ja penny picker upper. Mr M gave me his cold.
Thankfully I seem to be swiftly on the mend thanks to the care and attention of Dr Paracetamol and Dr Olbas.
Needless to say today has been rather slow. Haven't managed to do a big diaries catch up, I was planning on doing the rounds this evening, boo. Hope everyone's doing well out there.
:www: MFW Wonderment: ....*tumbleweed*... nothing really. General continuing of good behaviour.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: Cups and cups and cups and cups of tea.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: all energy today spent on more decluttering - two boxes down to half a small box of bits to keep, result! Area around desk is now actually accessible, just need to dispense with broken printer now...a penny picker upper. We've discovered some hidden damage from our bathroom leak of a few months ago... it'd soaked (clean water, I hasten to add, thank the gods) through to the bedroom and under the wardrobes... where I'd shoved a whole load of my shoe boxes. Opened a box this evening and the shoes had gone mouldy. *shudders* Have had to throw out about seven or eight pairs. That's one way to declutter.
Thank heavens that my absolute favourite pair have escaped unscathed, so am not too distraught...!
Cold is making a swift exit, just felt a little tired today & have mostly taken it easy and watched charming films (Snow White.... *sings* one day my prince will come... oh wait, he's already here, yay!).
Enchilada's for tea and the other half of the chicken will go into curry tomorrow, literally can't wait. Have spent all day wanting to munch things and drink tea.
:www: MFW Wonderment: identified more things to stick in the eBay pile, with any luck will get some on tomorrow & make the most of free listings. Finally £1 of TCB has confirmed, hope that's payable soon.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: a friend sending me a surprise present in the postCan't wait to crack open the pretty notepaper and send some little presents back. I love post!
:heartsmil Burrow Building: realised stuff is just stuff and I won't really miss it when it's gone - the shoe nonsense has made me realise I could get rid of even more things I'd been umming and ahhing over, in fact it'll probably be a relief to free up the space. How many 'heirlooms' do I really need? etc.a penny picker upper. :coffee: Simple Pleasures: Mr M brought me back a bunch of daffodils today. They're now sitting prettily in a little white jug in the living room.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: decluttering & organising continuing apace. Spent a good few hours clearing out bags & boxes of random 'bits' that had somehow collected themselves into corners. Also sorted out the bathroom cupboard where I a) discovered I have lots of luxurious bath things to use up, yay and b) threw out a fair few medicines that I hardly needed to use, double yay. The only time I don't mind getting rid of unused stuff.
Sounds like your decluttering's going great P*M, sorry about the shoes though. Is it worth an insurance claim or does your excess make it pointless?
Weird thing, Mr Hbbb also came home with bunches of daffs, now in blue jug in living room ... Starting to think we live in a parallel universe or some such!
Hope your cold is better!

Keep your eyes peeled, INOD, they're turning up everywhere. Mr M came home with yet another bunch for me today. He found them in Aldee, for 40p! MIL dropped by some flowers at the weekend as well, so the house is starting to look like a florists. :rotfl:
PS. I love sunflowers too, I think it's the sunshine yellow, it lifts the spirits like nothing else. That's probably why I'm so in love with custard as well! :rotfl:

That's certainly a strange old coincidence daffodil-wise!We'll have to keep an eye on this.... especially if it starts spreading to summer flowers.

Cold update: mostly gone but have been left devastatingly tired by the whole affair. Spent all of yesterday pretty much glued to the sofa, slept for a good nine/ten hours and then today I didn't really have much energy until teatime. Managed to do things in fits and bursts but had to keep taking rests to recharge, strange old day.
After thinking we were all sorted for food, Mr M went to Aldee to pick up a few crucial bits for tonight's tea, what I didn't realise was he that he was going to come home with two bags full of their award-winning goodies. He was reading up on them last night and now we have a lot of everything to try(!). Just when I'd managed to clear some space on the countertops as well, we are now once again overflowing with food. There was almost no space in the freezer for extra things either (he bought the pizzas & lemon cheesecake), cue massive reshuffle. Only £20 spent though, and everything should last a long, long while...
He forgot the milk though, so that was a quick run to the shops for me (with sopping wet just-washed hair, egads), 48p. I don't even drink milk. But...
Pancakes tomorrow! :j :j :j
:www: MFW Wonderment: did surveys on BzzAgent & joined The Orchard (new BzzAgent-style product testing site), so here's hoping some lovely stuff wings its way to me soon. Continuing good work on 1Poll. Spied some change in purse, so will add that to kittybank forthwith (purse too far from sofa for me to get it now).
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: the balcony was a sun trap today, ate lunch outside and slowly baked in the rays. Half considered taking out a blanket and taking a nap, one for the future maybe.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: quickly gaining floristry skills. Rearranged some decluttered bits, so chipping away at it all the time. Actually watched a film (Gravity) with no laptops/screens on and lights off. Rare occurrence these days!

Forgot to come back & report on the purse shrapnel! 6p into kittybank.
Decluttered another two bags of stuff (mostly pointlessly kept papers and leaflets for things, why do I do it to myself?) and completely rearranged the kitchen - there's so much space now, bliss!
Waiting for Mr M to come back, he's off out late so no pancakes for a while yet. *twiddles thumbs*
Off to see what valued opinions & such have got for me... might hit the freebie boards too, haven't been there in an age, time to get back in the habit.a penny picker upper. Screened out of every survey! How irksome.
Just realised I've not done anything about my gardening plans yet... I'm not sure what to do, we may end up moving in a few months so maybe can't go as mad as I'd hoped with planting things up. Shall have a ponder. I suppose I could donate them to various friends and family members if we have to hotfoot it somewhere without outside growing space.
In other news, why did I think it was a good idea to watch The Woman In Black on my own?
:www: MFW Wonderment: undermined by surveys, alas.
