:rotfl: INOD, why didn't I think of that one sooner?

Thanks for all the congrats :D :smileyhea I start at the end of the month and can't wait - have been brainstorming/preparing for it all now it's sunk in (had to read the job offer email several times to keep checking it was real, lol).

Things have been rather un-MSE here. Basically need a whole new work wardrobe and have had to buy dresses full price. I could cry. However, did find another jacket in a charity shop, so am doing very well with petite suit jackets at the mo.

Treated myself to a super lovely silvery grey sheepskin rug from J0hn Lew1s (a Go Me! New Job! present). Have actually been on the lookout for one for about four years, but didn't want to spend much over £30 (obvs needed to be super high quality but low price ;)), and finally I found one. Happy days.

A few pennies spent in the M&S sale too (lingerie, but half price or more so hurrah for that).

Mad few days filling in at old work (only two days left though!), at least I should get a nice wad of cash from that (it can pay for all my new work clothes :rotfl:)

:www: MFW Wonderment: totted up my spending diary yesterday and realised I've not actually gone as mad as I though - still a goodly chunk of my Fun & Games budget left and everything else working out ok, pleased with that.

Mr M isn't here for tea's this week, so I'm rustling things up out of the freezer. Fish & chips last night; baked potato with beans then crumble tonight; tomorrow might be a veg medley soup. Have also scavenged for lunch items - had a banana sandwich tonight, tomorrow I might use up some crackers and a random packet pasta thing that needs used up.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: loving the lovely sunshine and seeing all the cherry blossom and magnolia's starting to bloom. Loving getting up in the morning and stepping onto my luxurious rug!

:heartsmil Burrow Building: dare I say it, house is staying in relative order these days. Can't wait to get properly started with job as I'll have a couple of days a week (will only be working three/four days) to really crack on with Kondo-ing!

I still can't get over how much energy I have these days - actually being able to do things when I get home from work is amazing! Love seeing the house look more homely. :T

Congrats on the job!!! That doubled pay will do very nicely in helping you to get on the ladder!

Also a belated congrats on the engagement, and good to know my OH wasn't the only one to take aaaages to pop the question ;). Have you set a date yet?
It will indeed, Petal! With Mr M's student loan finishing in a couple of years we might actually be able to crack on with finally getting somewhere at long last. :rotfl:

And thank you - glad to know we weren't the only ones that took forever to make it official. ;) We had a misunderstanding re: weddings and marriage and were being polite to each other thinking the other wasn't that fussed, but as it happens that wasn't the case at all. :rotfl:

No date as yet, probably thinking late next year though. Once I've been in this job for a bit we might start properly planning things.

I really must catch up properly (i.e. post!) on your diary - we both seem to be up to all the same things. :D

I need to catch up with every one (hope you're all doing well out there!), life has certainly been interesting of late, but now it's settling down I can't wait to keep in better touch with what you're all up to! Also - need to buy laptop for new job - so that'll make posting a darn sight easier (I get so lazy on the iPad - even though I have a keyboard for it... :o)

    Ooh forgot - £1.3something TCB! Hurrah :D

Also forgot - Mr M spotted £10 Rocket Dog boots on HUKD! http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/rocket-dog-sidestep-women-s-cowboy-boots-black-10-prime-14-75-non-prime-amazon-2411847

Bargain, have bagged myself a pair. :D Would have loved the chocolate ones, but not for £75 :p

Mad day covering things at work - have been sorting out lots of paperwork which has left me covered in papercuts (including one on my nose! Don't even ask! :rotfl:)

:www: MFW Wonderment: 60p into the Kitty Bank; did a little prep for new job; sewed up a hole in one of my fancier cardies (hope it lives to see a few more adventures!); another rake around the freezer for tea (chicken and wedges with swede & sweet potato mash).

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: coffee with milk and sugar - I usually have it black but thought a little treat was in order today. Best not get used to it though, it tends to make me feel queasy if I have too much... slippery slope and all that.

:heartsmil Burrow Building: watched Great Interior Design Challenge : Trade Secrets - feeling rather inspired to do some fancier (but cheaply achieved :money:) things in the house now! Must get my thinking cap on...

Ha I wish I could put it down to a misunderstanding but I'm afraid it took OH 6 years (!) purely because he's slow off the bat :p

My wedding is end of July next year so I'd love to follow the progress on yours - I'm afraid mine is the complete opposite of an MSE wedding (turns out OH is quite a sucker for a big white wedding with all the frills + London costs are a killer) but maybe you'll find some out of the box solutions that I can latch onto for mine too! :D

:hello: Hi Pearla*Merle have had a very happy few days following your diary - what a lot of adventures you have :) Many, many congratulations on the new dream job - sounds very well deserved. Thank you also for the decluttering inspiration which has resulted in me be able to open my wardrobe without the occurrence of a daily avalance :rotfl: Well one half of my wardrobe anyway but am getting there. Enjoy your new job celebrations :T
