Relaxing day started frantically with a trip to the post office for Mr M's Amazon returns and emergency battery buy as my fitbit one died and we couldn't find the spare despite ransacking the house at midnight last night ().
Scooped up all the good business books in the library as job interview has got my mind whirring about everything, so looking forward to learning some tips and tricks from them.
Finally home and didn't get much done due to feeling severely knackered. Almost fell asleep talking to mother on phone. Ending up binge-watching the Great Interior Design Challenge and working on interview presentation.
:www: MFW Wonderment: bought 3 for 2 batteries at B00ts - now sorted for the next few years! Also got my points.
Batch cooked pepper & bean casserole mix from the freezer for dinner. Was going to have it with pasta or rice but used up some Yorkshire puddings we had in the fridge, worked out rather nicely.
My eBay sale last week qualified me for a £10 voucher! Must have a think what to spend it on.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: knowing how many steps I've walked (:o). Was in v. feverish state inserting the new fitbit battery as soon as I'd bought it...

A very busy day walking about London Town yesterday. Went to an exhibition as one of Mr M's birthday advent treats. Walked almost 22k steps so hobbling about a bit today.
Highlights of yesterday included chocolate promotions people shoving several bars of chocolate into our hands (doing rather well with free chocolate at the moment!) and naughtily buying a couple of frivolous things (hairband and lovely fabric). Got both with 20% discounts however, and think there's another voucher for money off in there as well. :T
Fabric is going to be made into more handkerchiefs for me.My last lot have worked a treat (have saved a fortune as no longer buy tissues) but I need more (a few were a polyester/cotton mix and they're looking very tired now).
Walking about the shops only served to remind me that in fact I have loads of super accessories at home that I never put to adequate use. Might have a dig through them tonight and try and get them back into actiona penny picker upper. Exhausting start to the week - totally consumed with getting my proposal ready for next interview. Can't believe it took two entire days to do. Anyway, it's done now, just need to read through and briefly tweak things tonight.
So the last couple of days have been riotously money saving as I've been stuck in the house in hot pursuit of a well paid job.
Oh, did go to Aldee on Monday and got a wheely trolly plus bag for life full of food for only £35! Chuffed. Remembered to get weekly super cheap veg (carrots in there this week - tempted to go back and buy more tbh as I've got a rabbit-like addiction to carrots) which made a big difference.
Doing well eating out of the freezer this week, found a seam of carrot cake (see?) which got me through the worst of Keynote slide organising and have also been eating my batch cooked pasta sauces. Storecupboard stir fry last night as well. :T Loving having extra time and energy to really get to grips with foodstuffs.
Spending diary, budgets and accounts mostly sorted and uptodate. A few things left to sort later this week when I get more time.
Can't wait for this weekend - having a night away which has turned out to be perfect timing after such an intense few weeks.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: I've rediscovered the joys of Netflix (interesting indie films and of course, the fire :smileyhea)a penny picker upper. Interview done and dusted. Acquitted myself quite well, so whatever happens I feel chuffed at how things went. They said they were very impressed with my presentation. :T Should hear about it next week once they've seen everyone.
Basically in recovery from it all now!
And from the PO this morn. Vile old man shoved in front of me in the queue! Was too shocked to say anything, but have thought of a dozen insults since! Probably best not to get into a fight in public but was rather close to it, tbh.
In happier news - found a couple of Easter cards in the Charity Shop for 39p each, and shelled out a couple of quid on pretty picture by an artist I love to bits (start of Make The House More Homely!).
:www: MFW Wonderment: feeling much further ahead with job stuff - have got a proper plan of action now after much thinking about everything. Hopefully it'll yield more monies in time.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: seeing lots of bumble bees buzzing about the flowers on my balcony!
:heartsmil Burrow Building: feeling very inspired after binge-watching Great Interior Design Challenge this morn, and of course my picture buy - can't wait to faff about the house a bit more and make it prettier.
Also - had fabulous chat with Mr M about houses and such again. We still love the plan of buying land and building (ideally we'd build at least two properties and then sell one to essentially fund our own house build). We've decided to start researching and learning lots more about it all and see what's possible/see what we need to do to get ourselves in the best position for it.
It's still a long, long way off but it's exciting to have a plan of action in mind. :Ta penny picker upper.
