Loved all the talk of trials and treats of autumn - cheered me up massively on what has been a very blah day.
Feeling zapped, watched both Thor films in a row, did a load of laundry, had my leftover tuna in a toastie then had to go out for another hospital appointment.
So glad I opted to walk instead of taking the bus, I'd have been so irked to have paid to get there only to be told a whole load of stuff I already knew. Pointless visit really but it was so warm and sunny outside, and I've nearly hit 10k steps (wow as I can only walk slowly still - usually I march along like a woman possessed), so at least there was some pay off.
Doc said that I won't be able to do any long haul flights for about two months after surgery (date still to be decided but likely 4-6 weeks away) - and Mr M has already booked tickets to America for the end of January.Trying not to panic about it all yet - it may work out somehow but it's looking to be all a bit of a squeak tbh. Am going to distract myself with books over the next while - don't really want to think about any of it!
Had a bizarre veg concoction with rice noodles not to be repeated, lol, for tea. Baked tofu and rice tomorrow (with extra portion kept for lunch on Friday) - very much looking forward to something much more normal!
Had a quick look at my accounts and things are looking ok. Had a ridiculous letter and then ridiculous overlong phone call with Hey-Chess-Bee-See who apparently can't put two and two together. How did they become a huge bank? The mind boggles. My name wasn't correct on my application as it didn't have my middle name... only there was no option to add it online... so now I've got to go back into branch to sort it. Madness. Not touching them again until I've completely forgotten how ridiculous they've been - I value my sanity more than a few extra months 0%!

Last day of freedom (going back to work tomorrow
) and glorious it was - spent all day snuggled inside out of the rain with the netflix fire on, reading and pottering about on self-employed stuff.
I've got back into leaning German using DuoLingo (fab free languages app) but I went onto the website today and they have a section where you can help translate articles (you gain points as you learn/interpret). Muchos (or should I say viel?) fun
Dinner worked out well this evening (whew), looking forward to part two for luncheon tomorrow.
Finished two books :j (to be fair, they were seriously lightweight).
Hmm... nothing else to report. Oh, payday tomorrow! :dance:a penny picker upper. Survived today. Sort of. Ended up going home early and had to take an extra bus to get to the front door.
Feeling more human now after a few scary moments of malaise. Getting back into my PJs helped! Am going back in tomorrow (practically 24hr/7 days a week business). Hopefully I'll fare better then.
It was quiet today, managed to fit in some Duolingo and my FutureLearn course (am two weeks behind on that, oops. Planning to spend the next several days catching up).
Yellow-stickered wholemeal bagels are out of the freezer defrosting for my lunch tomorrow (they shall be furnished with ham and sweet honey mustard).
Oh, looks like my pay was messed up with two weeks SSP not processed. Joys. I'll have fun sorting that out. Today reminded me why I was planning on looking for employment elsewhere. I'll leave it at that and spare you the horrors.

Sellotape thank you! I find it helps makes such a difference to my state of mind. I used to write five things down every night that I was grateful for (which morphed into ten things a night - it really makes you think!!). I stopped doing it a while ago as the time felt 'right' (and I was cutting down on having excess activities on the go).
I've tried to keep the habit going by saying (or rather, thinking) 'thank you for..! and thank you for...!' before I go to sleep. It helps clean up the vibe of the day and put me in a good mood (I seriously recommended reading The Secret for more on this)
Apple, alas - it's a nightmare! The flights have restrictions on them and can't be changed (at all cheaply! i.e. we might as well just cancel and by the looks of things I won't get insurance anyway).
As for claiming on travel insurance, our policy expired at the start of November. Basically this means that even though it auto-renewed, technically the policy wouldn't cover us because we already knew about the health probs then and they weren't specified (got my money back on the auto-renew though!).
Only way around it (as far as I can gather) would have been for us to have purchased insurance from another provider before I got ill - but who does that?! It never even entered our minds that something mad like this would happen.Chalk it up to experience, I guess! Though if we are ever booking big flights again in future we'll have to do something like that if comes between insurance changeover time. Even if it's a waste of a couple of hundred quid, it's cheaper than losing a thousand or so on the flights.
We've been trying to find out ways we can get round it today, but even if I had the surgery in time to allow me to fly - we can't find insurance that would cover me. It's a two year wait until I can go anywhere exotic by the looks of things.Thank heavens for the European health card - we can at least explore the continent over the next while!
