Have you phoned the police and let them know about the Sky subscription?

I did initially and they just weren't interested, he said if Barclaycard refuse to refund you then get in touch but otherwise leave it to them

The costs of investigation by both the police and Sky probably far outweigh the losses. If the address is next to a pie shop / bakery the police might find time to drop in whilst passing ;)

Funnily enough it was outside one of those that my purse was stolen :rotfl:

I tried that, but Sky need an account number - and all that shows on my Barclaycard statement is the telephone number for Sky
I would have thought they should be able to search their account details for a card number but if you only called their 'helpline' then I suspect that they may not have that ability but it might be worth sending them a letter with your card number demanding that they immediately stop taking funds from your card.

Surely this is wrong! After all it's the police who should bring criminals to justice!

They do not want to register a crime if there is not a 99% chance of a conviction, no car insurance, speeding, job done, rubber stamp guilty. Investigating who did it, not just the address that is using the stolen account, is more difficult to prove and thus runs the risk of an unsolved / unprosecuted / no conviction crime. Bad for the tick boxes.
