Ah ha, but then my house doesn't have a front door on the front of the house luckily. Plus, I live in a nice area where we can leave our back doors open.

My neighbours don't answer their door. The result - I've been left about 5 parcels in the last couple weeks which then involves a long slow process of repeatedly knocking at the door to get someone to answer.

Not really. I don't spend all of 10 seconds standing at door before flinging a prewritten card through the door and going off to collect my wage slip.

  • I feel your pain! I was standing in my kitchen the other day, heard the front gate go and assumed the postie had come up, he had a parcel for me but didnt bother to ring the doorbell (Which works fine), use the door knocker, or even just knock! He just wrote a card and posted it through - height of ignorance imo, especially as he could see through the front room window a television was on and my car was parked in the drive - clearly I was home!!

Why not just put a note through their door saying you have a parcel for them and to come round and collect it?

That's what I do whenever I take a parcel in for a neighbour.

If you display one of the RM "opt out" stickers then packages for your house won't be left with neighbours but also, packages for neighbours won't be given to you.

Like as much he didn't even have the package with him - just the card. ;)
