Glad you've managed to sort it out and good on you for keeping your FUN money and not donating it to your husband's hobbies. You are doing so much to get out of debt to have a better life with your family so you definitely should treat yourself with your FUN money.

Can't believe how quickly the barclaycard is coming down - at this rate it will be gone by the end of March!

    Hi all

    What a beautiful day.

Had a great time last night, I decided to drink small glass's of draught cider so saved a lot of money as Gin & Tonics are super expensive. I don't drink much as we managed to come home with £9 change out of our £20 budget :j.

Hom home at 11.30 so also only had to pay the babysitter £20 :TIts the first time I have been to our village pub since New Years eve so not too bad.

hubby has gone off to golf with promises that he won't waste any money on drinking after the game. I feel like such an old bore sometimes but its the only way.

So relived to have gotten past this weekend and all its expense.

Well done you. You are doing an amazing job. As you have said, this is only for a fixed period of time and you'll have £1000 per month to do what you want with.

Well done on coming home with some money 😁

    Hi Steph
Beautiful day here too. In fact we have had a lovely few days. Friday OH and I visited a NT house that we had not been to before, we walked in the parkland and woods. With my gammy ankle causing me so much pain we have not done as much of this sort of thing as we would like, but I managed one of the shorter walks, only 1 mile, but way down into a valley bottom, and then of course all the way back up, so chuffed to have made it all the way round, and reasonable pain levels:j (well not quite jumping up and down:rotfl:)

Going to do a little light weeding then OH is going to accompany me on my first bike ride of the year (to pick me up if I fall off LOL, not ridden for about 20 years until a few months ago, so very wobbly!

You did really well on juggling the money for your night out, hopefully you can jolly OH along with the carrot of holidays, nights out etc when you are debt free, I am sure that you will achieve this within, or before schedule:A

    Hi Clearmydebts
Thank you for the kind words. Can't imagine having that kind of money to overspend on mortage and ACTUALLY live.

I remember talking about consolidation with folks on here and people saying that it never really works as you need to endure the struggle to become debt free to have the desire to NEVER get into debt again. I an finding that soooo true. I have gotten out of debt in the past from adding more to the mortgage or lucky windfalls.
I truely beleive this time we will get out of debt and STAY out because it is proving to be such a battle. I will never want to go through this ever again :o

Wow MM you are doing so well getting out and about so much. You have reminded me of the bikes we all bought about two years ago. The children obviously still ride theirs but hubby and I haven't gotten ours out for a very long time.
Just said to hubby that we ought to dust off our bikes this summer and go for a few little bike rides. Children are abit older now and more capable of going on a decent ride hopefully without too many tantrums :o

Hope you enjoyed your gardening, its been beautiful this weekend. just hope it sticks around for the Easter holidays.

Thanks for the kind words DFW.
Looks like we will all be getting on our bikes this summer.
Its also FREE, so something we can actually do. hahaha

I managed 9.16 miles, back home into a stiff wind (I do have a power assist bike, could never do it on a normal bike). My OH's hobby is cycling and he had already done 33 miles before he escorted me through the lanes and watched me wobbling along a narrow bit as a ginormous milk tank passed me:rotfl::eek:. It was so sunny out of the wind that we sat out twice with cuppas on our return:D

We are invited a a birthday lunch next sunday, the "birthday boy" will be 90 and is still riding his bike, his lovely wife is just a very few years younger and she still rides too:cool:

    Wow Maddiemay,

9.16 miles even with a power assitbike is very good. Especially as its you first time for ages. You will be doing the whole 33 miles before you know it :T

    Morning Diary.

Hubbys wages went in this morning, so have balanced bank account against YNAB. No major debt payments today just lots of Direct Debits and shuffling money into Food, Fuel and savings pots.

Five items finished on Fleabay over the weekend. I logged into paypal and thankfully even after leaving enough in for fees, and withdrawing the money for postage. I had £20 left over for debt repayment.
I have withdrawn it into my bank account and immediately paid it against my Barclayc#rd. Balance Now. £353.

Only little chips being taken off it at the moment, which is better than nothing but I REALLY want to somehow find a large amount of money to pay to it.

I read some ones diary over the weekend, sorry if its you, my memory is terrible. They were going round their house finding 15 items per room to Ebay. I doubt after my recent selling spree that I would find 15, but think as I clean the house this morning that I will look out for 5 items per room.

That should give me another large chunk of items to list and hopefully generate some more money.

Hope you all have a fab money saving / Debt busting week planned.

Hi Steph, just love the chipping principle - whether applied to decluttering or debts. it will soon be mounting up (or down I suppose). Just keep on chipping! Love your diary. Cheers BL1
