  • Hi Kim

Well I took the plunge. I have listed my Iphone 4 on fleabay.

Fingers crossed it makes near to £100.
That and the Water board refund would pretty much pay off my Arg#s account and then I can put the payments that I planned for that against my next debt target which I think Is my Barclaycard.

Nice to get the Arg#s account gone pretty painlessly. They won't all be that easy but its a step forward.

Trying to talk Dd into parting with some of her thousands of toys. I told her that she could keep the money she makes from the sales and put them towards the Xbox she wants. Her birthday isn't until December so she has a long wait unless she does something about it.

Really need to thin out the toys in her room as well. Blink and its a mess again and its just because its crammed with too much stuff. another by product of our debt, me lavishing presents on my children :o. No more though xx

You are doing brilliantly. Hope the phone sells well and you can wipe Argus of your signature.

    Hi SS,

Great news on the incoming pennies... and good luck with fleabay. I have sold many things on it in the past, to fund those sunshine holidays I love... I do find some of the buyers a bit of a pain, and getting the correct costing for the p & p... But I really must get into it too as my dd has a room full of clutter and don't mention the loft to me...:rotfl:

I do a deal with her that I photo/list etc and then deduct 20% of the total selling price, which means she gets the lionshare but I get a few pennies too...(well I do have to pay the listing fee/pp fees as well..)

Hope your enjoying your ht and more money flutters in as the week goes by...

Thanks for posting Sweetpea. Fingers crossed with the phone. Can't wait to kill off some debt from my signature, there is so much of it, I struggle to fit it all in :o.

    Morning Puzzcat,

Yes have dabbled with fleabay before and unless you are desperate (I am!) i does'nt often seem worth all the hassle, but I have taken the plunge again, have listed 15 items. They are all things that won't be missed so don't mind putting them on at 99p and taking the risk.

Already got people messaging me about postage to Greece and combining postage costs. Pfffp, got to remind myself that it will be worth it, if I sell it all.

Good luck with your ebaying. Our attic is pretty clear as only moved 3 years ago and I do tend to sell/throw anything that sits still too long :o
  • Morning Diary,

Not a whole lot to report today. Still raining :(.

Balanced my bank against YNAB this morning, a few scheduled budgeted bills had come out and I made my last debt payment of the month, £100 co-op cc. That takes me to 12% paid off :T.

Only other debt payments that will be made this month is possibly the Water refund if it comes in time for February and any other windfall (:rotfl:) I might get. (Unlikely).

So got around £750 to pay in March to reach my March Mini Goal of getting in the 17k mark. Feeling goood to be doing down what looks like 1k per month. Not totally paying off 1k, but if it moves it down a thousand then it feels good.

Love looking at my signature at the moment as I have two small debts that will hopefully be gone by April. then there the next two which I think are Next & Co-op will be around the 1k mark which won't feel horrendous to combat. They all feel quite acheivable.

By the end of the year I want to be left with only the last three biggies. Will havbe the final push to get rid of those.

Hoping to take the children to the cinema today. Think I need to get there abit easrly as I read that a friend tried to go yesterday but it was sold out.

Have two children tickets to use up before March so must go. Will have a look at my FUN budget to see if I can afford a pizza hut lunch?? Or is that just a waste. Maybe I ought to feed them lunch first and then we head in. Got to keep double thinking to make sure I don't just act like I always have with money :o.

Right, must finish straightening my hair, Mr T is due any minute and I might give him a fright if I am not sorted out.:)

    Debt-free and Proud!
You are doing brilliantly with the debt repayments - well done. It helps to see the figures going down. I am waiting now for the next auto payment to come out of our account so I can tick it off and update my sig! It is these little things that keep us going.
Have a great time at the cinema. The pizza lunch would be a lovely treat if there is budget for it and you don't need that for anything else later - but depends on whether the cinema is treat enough and they'd prefer waiting and having another treat another time - or whether they'd love one big splash! Great that you are thinking it through though!
  • Hope you enjoyed the cinema Steph :)

    Hi Miz
Thanks for the encouragement with the debt battle. I am glad to hear I am not the only one who exists from debt payment to debt payment, wanting to watch the debt come down.

We had fun at the cinema, decided we should have lunch before we left home for damage limitation. Stopped at a garage and treated us to a bag of sweet and a bottle of drink each. Still came to £7.83, but that would have been the price of a small popcorn and small drink for just one of us, so even though it felt expensive it was better than it could have been.

I had two free vouchers for the children but had to pay for me and an upgrade of the childrens tickets because the movie was 3D. That came to £11.10. So total cinema trip cost was £18.93.
It was came out of my FUN money pot, but felt like I had spent LOADS :D

On the way home we stopped at Pets at Home and bought Ds's Leopard Gecko some more food (£7) for a load of creepy crawlies . This came out of the Pets food category. Did'nt overly plan this but we don't often go into BIG town and its the nearest place that we can get the crickets and mealworms that the Gecko eats. Thought it was frugal to get it while we were already in town as its a 30 mile round trip.

Kiddo's are all happy now, will let them have abit of a late night and pack them off to bed at 930pm ish.
  • Sounds like a lovely day Steph, mine are on half term next week so must look at some activities for them.

I'm the same with debt repayments, I look forward to pay day so I can pay another chunk off I'm liking the short month of February as it's seems to have come around quicker!

    Hi Chrysalis

It has been a lovely afternoon and thankfully The Lego movie appealed to both Ds and Dd in the end which is a rarity.

Feel slightly nervous that we have peaked a little early. There is no more money in the pot for anymore outings this week. All we have is a friend to visit on Thursday so hopefully that will break up the week., otherwise will have to pray for some dry weather to go on a walk or something.

February is flying by pretty quick, only one more week to go. Also nice to think that we have one more month without council tax :T.

Going to have to set up a direct Debit for the Council tax as I got myself into abit of trouble with them last year and have learnt the hard way that they don't tolerate even slightly late payments. :o

Hope you are all having a good Tuesday night xx
