AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH:mad::mad::mad:
Just read the front page on MSE about the CPP letter going out and not to throw it away if you receive one as it could bring you a £300 pay out.
GUESS WHAT.......................
I threw mine away!!!!!!!!!. I just went through all the recycleing trying to find it, only to have hubby tell me that he saw that letter last night. He picked it out of the recycling to use it to LIGHT THE FIRE :mad::mad:
So annoyed with myself...I just thought it was junk mail.
Also VERY annoyingly....The same letter came through the post addressed to the previous owner of this address. THAT didn't get burnt..MINE DID
Have had a good read of their letter and it sounds like if you get one of these, then you definitely have had cover that could be paid out from.
All I can do is call them on Monday and see if I can get another letter sent out, there must be lots of other idiots out there that have accidentally binned their letter???.....So annoying. I could REALLY do with that £300, it would be a big payment against my debts.
Rant over....Sorry guys xx0 -
How annoying about the CPP letter:eek:, hopefully a phone call tomorrow (blaming your OH for using the wrong pile of papers to light the fire:rotfl::rotfl:) will result in a new one coming out to you:D
Bright and sunny here after a frost, wish I could do something in the garden, but we are on clay and it is so claggy need to keep off it as much as possible.
You mentioned that your Chinese meal was a disaster, but if you like chinese + pork, I am trying a new recipe from Memory Girl, best of all it is cooked in the slow cooker. It is for belly pork, but I am using some stir fry pork from the freezer that I bought yellow stickered a while ago. It smells yummy and each time the dog walks through the kitchen she lifts her head and sniffs longingly:rotfl:
No school run tomorrow?:j:jThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Morning MM,
Fingers Crossed with the CPP letter. Typical isn't it.
We are on heavy clay as well, We had a huge branch break off one of our trees in the last storm, all the walking on the grass to clear it out the way has ruined the grass, looks like a mud bath.
Someone said the other day, that it will be May until the land has dried up! Hope they are wrong.
We do have some belly pork in the freezer, will have a search for Memory Girl and see if I can find her recipe. Need some new ones. Keep meaning to check out the recipes on the beginning of the Grocery challenge thread, there's millions of them.
Hope you had a good weekend xx0 -
Morning all,
Not much report this morning, feel a little dazed and confused this morning. Had a bout of insomnia that's night and it was easily 3am before I finally fell asleep. Don't what sparked that off.
Quiet day today with kiddies, may used up our Cinema vouchers I got from Mr T ages ago that need using up, but abit worried about using that so early in the week before they are properly bored.
Reconciled YNAB against my Bank account this morning. Tree budgeted for Direct debits have come out.
Must remember after 9 am to call Wessex Water to see if I can get that £162 sent to my bank account. Really excited about that. Would be great to make that extra payment.
Got a mountain of washing to work through today, weekly meal plan and the Mr T delivery to finish.
Hope you are all off work with your kiddies and trying to relax, otherwise have a great day.0 -
Me again....
9am came, so I started my phone calls.
Rang Wessex Water first. Fantastic news. I have £162.31 to be paid back but also another £31+ from some claim??? they did for me. Who knows what that was but they are sending me a cheque for £193.86 :T:T.
When that finally clears through my account, I will pay that against my first debt, which is Arg#s. It will easily half what I owe, so will try my best to pay off the last bit asap. Fab news.
Then I called CPP and explained that their letter accidentally got recycled.:o. Not a problem, they will put another one in the post to me, but it might take till mid March as they prioritise the people that haven't received one yet. I have left a note in my diary to call again mid March if I haven't received anything.
So instant joy with that one, but a small glimmer of hope that later in the spring I may get a small £100-£300 payout from them..
Nice when money comes in rather than out
* I am tempted to put my old Iphone 4 onto fleabay. Looks like 2nd hand ones are going for around £100!. Abit worried in case I ever break my current phone, I then won't have a fall back, but think we need the money too much to worry about that at the moment.0 -
Sounds like a very busy few days Steph. Sorry you had a disappointing meal on Friday - I hate it when that happens - always feel so cheated. Hope you can make lots of yummy stuff this week to make up for it.
Great news on the payout and on the CPP not being lost - spreading it out a little means that you'll get a boost later in the spring as well as the one you are getting now from Wessex Water! :T
And well done getting under £19K - brilliant! :j:j:j At £1K a month you will be there in no time.0 -
Woohoo to the extra pennies coming in, it won't be long until you can pay off the Arg*s card and cross that off your list. Onwards and upwards.

Hi Miz
With the crummy take-out it made me wonder why I crave them so much, but I think it's more the Not having to cook that appeals to me. Will definitely not settle for 2nd best again. If we can't afford/get to our favourite indian takeaway then we just shouldn't bother.
Could'nt believe it when the water co. said they owed me EVEN more than £162. fantastic.
Loving killing off nearly 1k per month, just want to fast forward the year now
Good to hear from you. Will check out your diary to see if you have posted an update xChrysalis1976 wrote: »Woohoo to the extra pennies coming in, it won't be long until you can pay off the Arg*s card and cross that off your list. Onwards and upwards.

Hi Chrysalis
Great to hear from you. I have decided to snowball the smallest debts first. Mainly because of tried and failed previous attempt and feeling like I needed the boost of ACTUALLY closing accounts. Some of my bigger ones are 4-5k and that would feel like ages to clear. Hopefully if all goes to plan, I should have reduced my total debts from 8 companies to 3 by the end of the year.
That would feel great. also then as I am snowballing, the payments against the last three will be quite large so will hopefully feel like I am making some headway with them.
If you are only paying £50 against a 5k debt you don't feel like you are EVER going to get there.
Hope all is going well with you xxx0 -
Hi Steph
Fantastic news about meeting your February goal and getting under 19,000 :j £1,000 in a month is absolutely incredible! You should be very proud of yourself
Also, great news about getting the water refund - how lovely to get a little windfall you don't expect! Fingers crossed the CPP letter turns up sooner rather than later too, but I'm glad calling them for a new letter turned out to be no hassle.
If I was you I'd stick your iPhone 4 on ebay. Hopefully nothing will happen that means you'll need a replacement - but it's £100 just sitting around in your home for no reason otherwise!
Have a great day xx0
