    Hi

Hope today isn't as bad as you were thinking it was going to be. Maybe your lady had laryngitis? Or is that wishful thinking......

Why have schools become such a big deal for all this participation malarkey and not just teaching the children? I think they put so much pressure on parents these days. It gets better when they are at secondary school as they do not have to dress up as such. They do however, have invites to go on trips etc - much more than I ever had.

    Have a good day xxx

We had the same thing yesterday! I was literally given one days notice that ds2 needed a knight/king/prince outfit  I made something out of an old towel and some felt /cardboard & tinfoil but it was a total nightmare and not brilliant! We've had easter bonnets too and lots of drop-in sessions and stay and plays and assemblys! Plus DS1 starts his GCSE exams ( ) after Easter so he's flapping, i'm flapping and the school keeps asking us to go to talks about them and I have had to pick him up after "revision sessions" nearly every day which totally clashes with when I need to collect the other two kids (who are at a school 4 miles away!) Roll on Easter, :rotfl: I think us parent's need the break more :rotfl:

Don't let ds spoil your mood for the day, smile...even if you don't feel like it! It really helps and eventually you'll be smiling because you mean it xx

    Hi DFW & Magsnoodle,

Wow it sounds like we are all having a rough time with school demands lately. Just can't beleive how much they have going on. I know it makes for a more varied education, but I do sometimes think too much emphasis is put on Projects etc than good old fashioned Times tables, telling the time and Literacy.
Think I am getting old :o

You did make me laugh Magsnoodle, my employer did'nt have Laryngitis unfortunately, but I did feel quite sorry for her as she is the epitomy of a mad old cat lady and one of her cats is on the verge of dying. so it did put my wingeing into perspective. :o

I do feel alot cheerier now, Don't really know why as I have three bathrroms to clean in my own house now :D:mad::D. I desperately want to stick to my app routines so will do my best to get them all done. Think I might headphone up with my favourite American father figure Dave Ramsey :D

I am being abit naughty tonight and going to the cinema with a friend. Going to watch Insurgent. Using Tesco vouchers so as long as I can resist the snacks it should only cost me abit of petrol, and there is always the chance she will offer to drive :o.

Ok I had better get going as all three bathrooms are a state so will take quite a while.

    Love you all xx

Enjoy the cinema Steph! I had to clean our ensuite the other day. It was actually a health hazard in there!

    Afternoon all,

Well all three bathrooms have been thoroughly cleaned. Sure feels good. I noticed on my cleaning plan that the Utility Room is also down to be done on a Wednesday . Going to try to change this to another day as its already quite alot to get done in only a couple of hours in the afternoon after my morning cleaning job and before picking up the children.

House looks like it needs a good hoover and I am home all day tomorrow so will make sure I get that done.

Tomorrows zones are Bedrooms. All three bedrooms are not too bad, but all need bedlinen changing, windows cleaning, hoovering and dusting.

If I am feeling up to it I might also try to tackle my crazy disorganised wardrobe and shelving in my bedroom. I hate putting clothes away because it has become a total jumble in there and I can barely see what clothes I have to wear, especially with the season changing.

Nothing financially happenning, I am waiting on Children Tax Credits to come in then I can pay the mortgage and the last few debts.

Hope you are all well, sorry for my house cleaning ramblings but it feels good to be on a routine that is finally working. xxxx

Hi Steph, glad to see your routines are going well. It is quite satisfying to have a tidy/dusted/vacuumed house except it will all need doing again quite soon (alas) As for myself - yesterday I dusted (properly & thoroughly, even some windowsills ! ) & today I WILL vacuum, I WILL vacuum... How have you gone with the Tesco card, the one you wrote to them about or have I missed something in your last few posts? All the best bl1

    Evening Steph,

Your little house keeping regime is sounding good, have you just made that up yourself? I could do with a set rota but can imagine myself not sticking to it!!! xx

    Morning

Hubby told him that unless he will make an effort to dress up then he has to go in his school uniform - Cue screaming and crying and lots of drama..

In the end we managed to get him dressed in brown-ish home clothes and he has taken some bit I fashioned out of hesian and a brown belt to school but I know he won't dress up in it.

We have had so many things going on in school lately, I could really do without needed Viking costumes three days before the end of term :(.

    'twas ever so .. (Boodedoo thinks back 30 years . . .)
Eldest miniBoodedoo comes home from school, aged about 7 . .

Mrs ClassTeacher says we should spend the evening making a working nuclear reactor out of household waste and bring it into school tomorrow.

Boodedoo holds her head in her hands and shrinks visibly.

We spend the entire evening emptying cornflakes boxes, unravelling loo roll from the cardboard tube (ditto for kitchen roll) sorting out glue, paint and some glitter (who wants to split the atom WITHOUT a bit of glitter??? That's just NOT right)

We glue, paint, glitter and generally stretch the bounds of imagination until WAY past bedtime.

Finally, its ready, test it out and yes IT DOES split the atom! SUCCESS! I am a GOOD parent! HUZZAH !

Eldest miniBoodedoo, carefully carries it to school the next morning (despite being grumpy from lack of sleep)

Boodedoo eagerly waits outside the school gates at the end of the schoolday . . Grabs child as soon as she appears, shines a light at her and demands to know:

What did Mrs ClassTeacher say about the working nuclear reactor?

Eldest mini Boodedooo reports that Mrs ClassTeacher said to leave it on the table in the corner with the others.

Boodedoo takes children home whilst muttering at every step "BI**CH, I'll kill her! She has NO idea what stress she causes"

But next time, we repeat the performance cos the mini ones 'really' want to please :-)

The only upside is that the MiniBoodedoos now have their very own micro versions and I just sit back and smile . . .

    Boodedoo
  • Haha fab story Boodedoo! That is so right though! I was muttering the same words nearly all week for easter bonnets, knight costumes and a few other things and not once were any of the children praised

    Morning all,

You are right about there not being any particular recognition for the hoops us parents have to jump through to achieve the weekly demands that come back from school. Its such a treadmil of projects, costumes, cake baking and homework completing.

I think its the only area of life that I am VERY glad I stopped at two children. There are a few parents in our school that have 3 & 4 children spread across the different years and I don't think I could cope with x 4 of everything .
I dutifully baked and iced 24 chocolate cakes for the Easter afterschool Cafe last night. But you are right Boodedoo, that my daughter felt very important taking the box of cakes in this morning, and that is what we do it for rather than any recognition for our efforts. :)

All done now, last day. All I have to do is pick them up tonight, buy one of my cakes back with a cup of coffee to support the PTA ladies and then we are free for two whole weeks :T.

Got the lounge and home office to clean today, not too bad as I have already hoovered and I blitzed the office area last week so its just dusting and putting things back where they belong.

I splashed out on some small herb plants yesterday so I will pot them up in a big old Belfast sink I have filled with compost outside the back door. I also have chilli plants that need potting on in the polytunnel so that is the plan for my day. :D

I was a little foolish yesterday and really stuck my foot in it. I have a perenial problem with one of the mums at school, but it is made very tricky that our daughters are best friends.

The woman in question is quite changeable and can never quite decide who she likes and can turn on a six pence against you.

We have been getting on quite well this year, but she turned up to return something yesterday morning and I made the mistake of inviting her in for a coffee. She proceeds to spend the next half an hour moaning and griping about other ladies that she is supposedly friends with. I had to admit that the things they were doing sounded horrendous and I let slip that I thought maybe she needed to be more selective of the friends she keeps as they sounded more hassle than they were worth. :o
Well it seems she has now taken unbridge with my comment and is giving me the cold shoulder and more than likely !!!!!ing about me to the very ladies she was slagging off yesterday .

I am such a fool, because she has done this to me before and I can't beleive i fell for it again. I vowed I would not have coffee's with her as it is almost like she tries to lead you into saying something contentious that she can then use against you, and I gave her the perfect result yesterday .

Bloody woman!!! Oh well, maybe I will learn this time to steer clear of her. I am such a slow learner :o

    Enjoy your Friday ladies. xxx
