You're sounding very organised Steph you're making me think what I can do to be better organised xx

Hi Steph, sounds like you are really getting organised:) (MSE why do you not recognise words written in the English language using an "s" not a flippin "z":(:(:(:()
Family came to visit yesterday, food was simple, but freshly made and no rubbish, it was appreciated (I suffer from self-doubt when catering for others these days:o)
Usual Friday visit to market in town this morning, bought nothing that was not on list and came back and written up all spends in my diary, able to do a food bank contribution too as local 1 Stop have a collection bin - food there expensive, but all branded and they have decent offers each week so usually select from these when they are running the scheme.
Spread sheet started to pay off CC which through ill-health and cannot be "ar&ed has built up a bit, could clear it from emergency account, but I know I will not be disciplined enough to replace it properly, so would rather pay a some interest, might try printing off your hundred square grids and using, need to check how many more months are free from Water DD and shunt the money across each month, 7 days to first "payday" of this year.
For the past month or so I have been looking things up on e-bay and Amazon and leaving them in basket/watch list, it is amazing how few things I have bought after leaving them their for a while:money:
You have had such an amazing 2014 and hopefully 2015 will be so much easier, particularly as you can reduce the interest payments and then snowball to the others.
MM
xx
Morning MM
I'm glad its not just me that gets annoyed with the MSE spell checker. I was sure we didn't spell everything with Z'ds in the UK
Sounds like you are also very organised with your spreadsheet and starting a "100 grid". I loved my grid, it is such a visual way of seeing your progress. it felt quite childish but I got super excited each month getting my highlighter out to colour in my boxes :rotfl::o
Good Idea with the leaving items in the basket in Amazon etc, I think if I could just get myself to wait 24 hours and have another think about my purchases it would stop me buying alot of stuff
I will try it. Hope all is well. xxxx0 -

Hi abba,
I do love shuffling my paperwork, its the secretary of my pre-children life. Old habits die hard
Good Heavens abba, how horrible to have had to take baby k into hospital, its so horrible when little ones get nasty colds that go onto their chests, let alone it turning into pneumonia .
So glad to hear he is on the mend. I hope you have managed some sleep as well, because if baby is ill, mum is usually dead on her feet:(.
Hope that's the last of illness's for your family for a while. xxxx0 -
Morning all,
Yesterday was abit of a pain, I headed into big town mid morning to get my close friend a birthday present. I managed to get tonnes of mixed birthday cards, they all came to £13 but I bought 32 cards so in the long run I have saved alot of money. (if i bought them all bit by bit from my local shop like I did in 2014, 32 cards would cost me £80 ).
I then also bought a few meds to restock our medicine cabinet, it had run dry of any Calpol, Travel sickness tablets, ibruprofen, and a few other bits.
I could'nt find anything for my friend as BIG town is more for practical stuff than any lovely gift shops, so on the way home I stopped in small town which is a lovely market town full of lovely little non-chain gift shops. I managed to find her a lovely cushion with nice wordings on it and a reed diffuser from a shop with 25% off sale.
Only problem was it took me until 2.30pm to get all that done. I really do hate shopping
Anyway, I came home and got my Metal filing tin all re-organised for 2014, I have bagged up all of the bills / receipts from 2014 and will pop that in the attic just in case.
We popped down to the pub for 1 drink to give my friend her presents and to toast her birthday, we went with the children and it was really nice. Came home at 9pm.
Had abit of an electronic nightmare at the beginning of 2015 that will test my debt busting. Both the Nintendo Wii and our Playstation 3 have stopped working.
The Wii is abit annoying as Dd had two new Wii games for Christmas, so she hasn't been able to play them, and hubby likes to odd play on the PS3 so he isn't happy. He has nipped into Maplins this morning as he had read on the internet that some Heat Resistant paste put on some part of the PS3 will solve the problem. I can't really see it working but I guess its worth a shot.
I doubt very much we will replace the PS3 as even 2nd hand on Ebay they seem to sell for around £130 .
I will keep my eye out for a cheap Wii as they seem to sell for under £50 so not too disastrous to replace.
Having a quiet day today. I might start working on hubbys paperwork, getting it all ready for Aprils tax return, it will be nice not to have to do the whole year when I get to April.
So thats me up to date, i won't be able to make any debt payments until hubby gets paid on the 10th at the earliest. i am dying to start colouring in my boxes0 -

Hi Steph! Happy New Year again
I made a list of everything we've got in the freezer and have made a 2 week meal plan to hopefully more of less empty it out! It badly needs defrosting so hopefully we can eat everything and I get get it done...then I can do a normal week shop with a meal plan each week depending on what meat bits I can get reduced
We've spent the last week having a massive sort out - first the bedroom, then the sitting room, kids room and sitting room today. I finally feel like we have room for all our stuff! lol Now I've just got to work on keeping it tidy.....I hate cleaning! lol
I hope you can find a cheap PS3 and Wii - have a look on the facebook selling sites and Gumtree too as people often can't be bothered to post, so will sell it for a cheaper offer locally. My OH sold 2 ps3's about a year ago and only got about £100 for each...they did have small hard drives though - the bigger the storage the more it will cost.
Good luck with the tax!
xxDebt FREE thanks to YNAB0 -
Hi Steph,
Wow you are sounding so positive and so organised keep it up.
Re the PS3 and Wii could you sell them as broken on eBay and put the money towards another? Worth checking it out for nothing xxMummytogirls x0 -
Hi all
thanks for stopping my Lhead and MTG.
Hubby managed to fix the PS3 :j. He spent £13 at Maplins and it did the job. #cleverhubby
Not as much luck with the Wii unfortunately but that would just be weird if he managed to fix that too.
Thankfully hubby fixed the more expensive of the two consoles. so I will save up my pennies and hope to get a cheap 2nd hand one from Ebay at some point.
Spaghetti bolognaise for dinner and trifle for pudding, still got to do the meal plan, I will hopefully do that tomorrow, I am still ploughing through hubbys tax books.
Off to check the pasta, hope you all had a good day xx0 -
