Hi everyone,
1,00th post - ridiculous to be happy about such a trivial thing.
I'm waiting in for the gas man this morning. He's coming to install a new heating controller as the other one keeps getting confused and needing to be reset. We're getting a remote controlled one, we have one in the Yorkshire house and it's great, DH can control it from his laptop - it tells us the temp in the house, outside the house and what the heating is set to which he can then change. We can also text a number and tell it to switch on or off or go to automatic settings. Very useful if you're arriving at night in the cold.
I also need to finish packing and put stuff in the car because we leave tonight, I'm looking forward to it because I'll be able to have a Christmas tree there, we decided it wasn't worth it this year down here.
Happy birthday Jackie O's DD.
Have a good last day TTFTM0 -
Morning:)
Happy 1000th post Snoozer:D
Jackie, your daughter sounds lovely and a real credit to you - hope she has a great day.
TTFTM - hope today goes OK for you, and Hester, hopefully these next couple of days will whizz by.
Feeling shattered today for some reason and woke up with a cracking headache. The kids have gone off to school and I should be steaming on with ironing, cleaning, errands etc., but can't get going yet - will have a cuppa and a couple of headache pills and get myself into gear.
A brisk walk with the furry fella should blow some of the cobwebs off!
Ham, Egg and Chips for tea tonight, and I think an early night may be needed!
A good, safe and peaceful day to all of you x0 -
Morning all,
well, we survived the evening - the storm was bad but the hotel was warm and we made the most of it. It didn't help that most of the guests had been told the wrong time, which sent the kitchen into a tizzy.
DH has taken leave today so were are going to the tip and then will be moving some furniture around a bit, and doing the sorting out that gets us ready for a houseful again.
Dinner is the beef casserole I made yesterday, and I shall bake this afternoon.
Have a good day xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning all,
Dogs got me up twice in the night. First time they went tearing round the house barking their heads off just as I had got to sleep. I doubt if anyone was prowling as I had locked the side gate. I yelled at them and swore a bit before finally going back to sleep. Then Milster got me up two hours later for a wee.
Well hubby and I haven't had a row by phone for a long time so it was a long time coming but we had a good one last night.
Happiness, ive got all three seasons of Game of Thrones. That will give me plenty of reasons to shut myself away over Christmas.
NAR. I hope you have a safe trip back home to Ireland. Pity I'll be out when your passing through.:D Send my love to the wife.:rotfl:
TTFTM I hope all goes well for you today. Get today over and done with and you can think about tomorrow. One step at a time.
Hester you really do have the patience of a saint.
Betheebee we too had huge hailstones last night. I lost the telly signal for awhile and now its tuned into some Irish frequencies (and I'm not very good with foreign languages). Ive lost my dustbin. I'll probably find it in a neigbours garden or somewhere. The weather suddenly changed about 4pm and we've not had wind like it here for a very long time. It had all passed over by 11pm though. Today is bright and sunny (probably cold though I haven't been out yet).
Snoozer. Congrats on your 1,00th post.:D I'm sure you can better that though so keep posting.:rotfl:
Not sure what I'm doing today so i'll play it by ear.:undecided

Good morning everyone!
My dad is getting my breadmaker out today, can’t believe I’m actually excited about it! But can’t wait to try it tomorrow. Can’t for the life of me remember what you actually put in bread, so getting mum to ring me up later to see if they found the instructions in the machine. I want to buy ingredients on the way home from work, but not actually sure the little shop will have posh stuff like bread flour. Might have to go to the big Tesco (that’s what everyone calls it, haha) tomorrow.
Well, today is my last day at work until Xmas Eve. And then that’s the only day I’m working next week (I work Tues, Wed, Thurs and so it just so happens the bank hols give me the rest of the week off). Wondering why I didn’t book it off now!
Judi – thank you so much for your recipe. It has been printed out. Sounds absolutely delish, but whether my 5yr and 3yr olds eat it is another matter!
Yvieblue – ooh, what show did he see? Yes, I do try to keep telling myself to appreciate them when they are so young as everyone tells it goes too quickly, sometimes it just doesn’t cut it though, haha. This morning was a 6pm for the older one, gave her my iPhone and she was happy playing with that. The 3yr old had to be woken at 7am, but seeing as she refused to go to bed till I did at 10pm and then was up coughing, I can’t say I’m surprised!
JackieO – that is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. Doubt my mum thinks of me like that, she does most things for me, haha. Well, everything when I’m at work anyhows. My girls think of her as a second mum. So I suppose I should be on here raving about her really. Bought a bottle of Baileys on the way home from work (tut tut) as a treat to say thank you though, had a bit meself, very nice!
JulieGeorgiana – no, no, no, kids stop arguing after the age of 6, right? I’m living in hope as all my kids seem to do is cuddle one minute, then they’re at each other’s throats the next! Drives me mad!

So near to the Christmas break! wahoo.
Got to wash some towels and bedding tonight. WM broken again so hand washing!
Been trying to look for wedding dress ideas, I find it quite boring, but would like to try and pick one up in the sales if possible!
Not much else to report here.

Afternoon all,
Has been very bad night here, young girl killed when tree fell on her car. Sky is blue now, but its very cold....not helped by depending on oil filled radiator....hopefully, when boilerman comes this evening he will be able to sort boiler....think that we will have to say hello to anew boiler in 2014, just hope that current one will limp through the rest of winter as replacement would be impossible....have bought new car for deliveryin new year so not a spare penny until I pay for that.
Welcome Yvieblue, you will like it here.
Need to sort few more presents and should do it today but cold is making me miserable.....would be better if I got off my bundun and did something....maybe after another cuppa.....
Happy birthda Jackie's Tessa, hope that its a good one
Every good wish and lots of hugs for all

Your very welcome. I'm just sorry I couldn't be more exact on the weights. You could substitute ham for bacon if you wish. Hubby prefers bacon but I'd got some ham in the freezer I wanted to use up.This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
