I brought a m&S voucher of ebay for £92 it had £100 balance on it, I paid for it on the 12th and it still never came I have messaged the seller on numerous occasions and only today she has replied to me saying ebay put a hold on the money I sent her so she couldn't post it, yet she marked it as SENT on paypal? I opened a case for a full refund she has now sent me a echeque payment which take 5-7 days to refund which probably will bounce! what to do I now have no money for my xmas food shop

I cant send the voucher now as I have no payment and ebay and paypal are now blocked. I am very sorry and will try and get it cleared up ASAP0 -

You can't hurry up the echeque unfortunately and if PayPal have blocked the seller then all you can do is wait for it to clear, and if it bounces get onto PayPal immediately.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Lot of hassle for £8.
Send £92 to get a £100 voucher?
Scam written all over it.0 -
I wouldnt say it a scam as the person may have been given the voucher - and doesn't want to go to M+S to shop and for them if they can get £92 back its £92 they can spend it on what they want.
I know with some vouchers they do say resale not allowed, so maybe Paypal have acted on that basic - and said refund -
What I do find odd is that the seller sent an e-cheque, surely if the money is in the paypal account it would have cleared (even if paypal put a hold on it) - I would check the dates of clearance and if it does bounce go straight back to paypal.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Sorry to hear you're going to struggle buying food this christmas because of this issue, but am I missing something here?
You clearly have very little money, but want to do your christmas food shopping in M&S?
Wouldn't it have been better to save your money and buy your food elsewhere, like Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Aldi etc. etc. all of which you could probably buy your Christmas food from for far less?
One lesson I'm deperately trying to teach my kids is that, in life, you really have to get your priorities right.0 -

You would be surprised how many single mothers shop in M&S. We are suppose to believe that people are fighting in Tesco when they bring the reduced veg out and everyone is queuing at food banks. Yet I know three or four single mothers on benefits who do all their shopping at M&S. Last time I went to M&S (11 months ago) it was full of pensioners, who we are told are all freezing to death as they are having to choose between food and heat.
I also think that people really need to think about what they are buying on Ebay. Guy spends £450 on Ebay without reading a listing properly and ends up with a photo of an Xbox. The poster obviously has money issues yet takes the risk of buying a voucher on Ebay in order to save £8.
You will get your money back. If the echeque fails Ebay will refund you under their seller protection. If you rang Ebay and explained the situation they may be able to speed things up.0 -

Have you seen the price of calls on an iPhone 5s? :rotfl:0 -
People who buy vouchers at cost on ebay are trying to hide money they have made from selling
So lots of money in paypal account, which doesnt go thru bank account, should benefits want proof of income/bank statements0 -

The seller would be getting around £80 for the voucher after paying ebay and paypal fees. Not sure if it's a scam or not, but sometimes there's something fishy about buying vouchers on eBay.
Anyway, is £100 enough to do christmas shopping at M&S? There's one near me, but I avoid it like the plague
