    LOL

I m notorious for buying a bottle of water and reusing that bottle with tap water for a month

I only buy them when I have/am forced to (Ie in airports and when getting ready for storm season)

I don't think you should go to the lapdancers and shoot, really. Just saying...

i play the lottery, but usually only to make up my '15 purchases/month' with my Barclaycard Cashback. by doing so, i get 2%cb, so i kind of feel as though the lottery tickets come for free.

whether they are better odds during the festive period, or not, i am not sure. but i am not too concerned either way. it is just gambling. and, if i put my mind to it, i think it is actually pretty sad, and agree with the sentiments above.

I think people get some joy from them by daydreaming about what they would do with a gazillion pounds, I'd imagine a lot of people would get a bit of excitement when the numbers are drawn.

The adrenaline rush is the whole point of gambling and addiction.

Unfortunately it seems many of the people who spend the most on lottery tickets are the ones that can least afford it.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Blimey, I work hard on trying to reduce the amount of adrenaline I'm exposed to, but working in high tech doesn't exactly let it pan out that way!

I hear them all the time - "If my numbers come up, all my debts will be paid off.", and then they spend £10 on scratch cards and lucky dips.

It comes as no surprise that a simple question is met with judgement and no objectivity.

    Well done.

paying to have dreams is a bit like paying for bottled water.

haha, interesting opinion. I prefer to not ingest additional chemicals personally, but I do not buy bottled water - there are of course other solutions available. Tap water doesn't make you ill in the short term of course which is why most people don't bother with looking into it or put any value on acquiring cleaner sources of hydration.

You talk as if addiction is a choice? :D

How do you come to the conclusion in your last statement?

It's not usually an addiction and is an (optional) tax of stupidity rather than poverty.

As, of course, are ponzi schemes.
