Yes, but on the right side of the odds.0 -

Bit harsh! With flawed logic like that, everyone is stupid, because we all chuck money away most days of our lives. Fags, beer, gambling, new cars, takeaways, meals out, latest gadgets, loans, expensive holidays, cruises, convenience overpriced buying etc. etc.
I don't do all of those by the way! :-)“In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing at all.” - Roosevelt0 -

Yeah, well, it's been that kind of week. With flawed logic like that, everyone is stupid, because we all chuck money away most days of our lives.
Yes, we all do stupid things at times, but gambling is particularly crazy and destructive. It not only chews through money while giving back very little, but it distracts people from actually getting on with the job of becoming wealthy via hard work.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

you assume the principal goal for most people is to become wealthy? perhaps the goal for people should be too become happy?
If someone gets some joy from buying a weekly lottery ticket they should.0 -

OK, yes, you've got me there. I had assumed that people bought these things because they wanted to win, but clearly it's just the joy of blowing a few quid that drives them.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I think people get some joy from them by daydreaming about what they would do with a gazillion pounds, I'd imagine a lot of people would get a bit of excitement when the numbers are drawn.
Everyone needs a hobby. Mine are going to the lapdancers and shooting. Perhaps I should drop my hobbies and save some money by buying lottery tickets?0 -

Dreams are fine but it's what you do to bring them to fruition that counts.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

I don't think you should go to the lapdancers and shoot, really. Just saying...I am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -
paying to have dreams is a bit like paying for bottled water.0
