Hi there,
I would really appreciate it if any of you guys with a contract with Vodafone from Coolnewmobile could tell me if the handset you got came locked or unlocked.
Thanks, G. D.

    Unlocked. Locked if on T-mobile.

ps Vodafone have told me more than once that their phones come locked (not from Coolnewmobile generally though - personal experience and checked with them first), but they WILL unlock them free at the end of the contract (invalidates their own insurance if done before then). Most other networks aren't so accomodating - espcially T-mobile whose phones DO come locked!

Thanks for sharing your experience Mobilejunkie i was aiming to put new sim into my old unlocked handset and giving new handset to my Daughter who is on O2 so it would be ideal if unlocked from day one, Thanks again G D.

Glad to help. You could always call and ask Coolnewmobile if the phone is locked (though had been told once it would be when I knew it probably wasn't, as proved to be the case). No guarantees, but would put money on it being unlocked as my k750i and k800i were. I would strongly suggest you make absolutely certain that you fully understand the t&c before buying; take a good, hard look. E2Save/Onestopphoneshop have recently stolen them knowing that it will be harder to get the cashback. I'm reasonably confident and there's LOTS of feedback on Phonebox/Coolnew on here, which I recommend you read through!
  • I got a Motorola SLVR last year on Orange/CNM cashback contract and it came unlocked and unbranded.

Just taken delivery of a Samsung U600 on a Vodafone contract through mobilephonesontheweb and it came unlocked and unbranded as well.

    Hope that's of some help.
