TV-Broadband-Phone : cancel and reapply under spouse name?

i am not sure if this has been discussed before.
The reason for the thread, Virgin Media increasing the prices again.
I am thinking if it is possible to cancel my current Virgin media account and then take a new one under spouse name to save some ££ as they have some good offers for new customers, and price rise for existing ones
I would like to know if this feasible?? Can they find out? Are there any other considerations? Has anyone tried this before.
ps. - i understand that, I will be tied into a new contract for 12/18 months if I do this.

Hi there,
I am currently with Virgin for my Tv, Phone and Broadband and have the essential package for £57 pound a month where I have recently come out of the 12 month contract but still receiving the services.
I would be really grateful if anyone could provide assistance In what best deals are out there at present.
As a family we use the Tv package and broadband regularly but do not use the landlines as much due to us having mobile contracts.
If anyone could assist in what the best deals are I'd be really grateful.0 -
Seems like lot other discussions are happening on that thread. So, posting back on this thread..Moneyineptitude wrote: »Since they know exactly which homes they have cabled now and in the past I'm certain it would be a foregone conclusion that they would "find out".
If you did this all they would do is reinstate your existing subscription which would only be cheaper if you took less services from them.
Basically, you have to leave for at least six months (a year with Sky) before you and your your home is considered as a new customer with the attendant deals.
My point was basically, if I do this:
Step 1. Leave them saying, I am moving out of home.
Step 2. Then after a week or so, take New connection from them in Spouse's name saying we have recently moved in.
Its more of a moral dilemma.. and the matter if they can really figure it out.0 -
There is no dilemma. It is crooked fraud. It is immoral. It is also very easy. If you are the sort of cowardly low-life who is only prepared to perpetrate low-risk crime then fire away.
You will not be arrested or locked-up. The only consequences will be to your conscience. If you're pathetic enough to experience a frisson from such grubby behaviour then there is little to stop you.0 -
Fine, if you actually move out of your home.trepxEgnivaS wrote: »Step 1. Leave them saying, I am moving out of home.
Is your spouse going to be paying from her Bank account? Is her surname the same as yours? Unless you are both Smith or Jones that's going to be some coincidence.trepxEgnivaS wrote: »Step 2. Then after a week or so, take New connection from them in Spouse's name saying we have recently moved in.
Your intended dishonesty (as long as you can't get caught) is not really something to ask advice about on a public forum.trepxEgnivaS wrote: »Its more of a moral dilemma.. and the matter if they can really figure it out.0 -
Best to start your own thread rather than hijack someone else's, but you'll find all the information you want here;powelly666 wrote: »I would be really grateful if anyone could provide assistance In what best deals are out there at present.
