Letter from CPM UK Car Park Management

Hi All,
A friend of mine parked in my designated space but we forgot to put the permit in her car. She received a PCN on her car from CPM UK Car park management. I told her to ignore it but now she has received a letter with photographs of her car asking for £100 along with blurb about the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. What should she do as she is worrying? Continue to ignore?

Not unless this was Scotland or NI of course. Please read the Newbies sticky thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Thanks for the info. I am in England so as I understand it I need to start the appealing process. Now, I don't know how much I am able to appeal considering we forgot to put the permit in the car? I was looking through the soft appeal letters but couldn't find one that related to that. Can anyone help?0

Do you own that designated space? Is it shown on your title deeds / lease as applicable? Who engaged the PPC to "manage" the car park?
There are several threads on here dealing with this exact same issue.
Regardless, you have a permit, there is no cost to park, there is no loss incurred so ANY of the soft appeals in ANY thread will do as a baseline for YOUR soft appeal.0 -

this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4835943 tells you why you should appeal
had somebody posted anote through your letterbox demanding money you would make them prove their case , would you not ?
same applies here too
at the end of the day, the worst case scenario is trespass, in which case you pay the landowner damages for trespassing , a monetary payment usually
if no trespass occurred, then it doesnt matter if the pass was visible or not, only a court of law can determine the legality of the enforcement, also if the "punishment fits the crime"
so you make them prove their case, or back off0 -
Thanks RedX
It is a friend of mine that received the PCN, so do I appeal on her behalf seeing as I am the tenant that rents the parking space? I keep looking for sample letters but it just doesn't fit the situation?
I really do appreciate all your help and advice, thank you.0
